  1. No Doubt. The northern swing is the worst.
  2. There will be some restrictions coming. Either the number of transducers or total inches of screens etc.. I hope BASS does something soon ,although it will probably be next year. I have to wonder where all of this supposed sponsorship money from Garmin, Lowrance and Humminbird is going. It certainly isn't adding to the payouts.
  3. I get tired of the hooks catching in the mesh versions. I've been gradually changing over to the Buzbe neoprene.
  4. 100%. The stickbait was invented here in the Ozarks on Table rock and Bull Shoals. They used the old Floating Rapalas and drilled them to add shot and epoxied the holes shut and also added wire to the hook shanks. There was a art to it and the Rapalas were hard to get. I remember when I was a kid a couple of marinas used to actually rent them.
  5. the Lizard dragger as per it's name was designed to be a Carolina rig rod. I like it as 1/2-3/4 football jig rod as well. I don't fish a frog so I couldn't say, but I'm sure it would make a decent big worm rod also.
  6. You can use solder. I buy the rolls of lead wire. at the fly fishing shop.
  7. He's a knucklehead either way. I don't see anything revolutionary. The braid in place of a split ring has been around a while, I'm personally too lazy to do it but I can see it working .
  8. The A-Rig was always a seasonal deal. At least around here, it's a wither/early spring suspended fish thing. once the water warms a bit they get off it. FFS will chase them year 'round. If that tube video the Zaldain put out with the tour of the pros Electronics doesn't open B.A.S.S.'S eyes, I give.
  9. All comes down to personal preference. I like the Advantage and Mean green also. I've used the XXX and it's some tough stuff , It will catch fish. It's not like upper tier flouro. If you don't like it just strip it off and try something else until you find what works for you.
  10. The 110 will always be the gold standard. But as mentioned the Spro McStick is good.
  11. I have fished the older model also The new design is head and shoulders better at least in my hands. NRX good? probably not, but GLX good.
  12. You wouldn't be sorry. It's one of those models that has the wow factor.
  13. I just got my World class from the good folks at ALF. Super impressed so far. I haven't had much time with it yet but the build quality is impressive. The guys that are in charge of the redesign came from Loomis/Shimano so it's no surprise many of the Loomis actions are mimicked through the line up I have the 7ft 3 MH (873) They also have the 7ft1 MH and H, 853 and 854 ect. I have a Curado MGL on mine and the balance is fine. At $ 200 less than NRX they definitely worth a look.
  14. Since your ok with the money, I have the Poison Adrena 6ft 10 UL. Just a fantastic little rod. Shimano rates it up to a 1/2 oz. I wouldn't go that heavy but if you like 1/16-1/8 oz heads or swimming 2.8 keitechs it's perfect. I like it better than any NRX spinning rod I've ever owned.
  15. Any spinning rod that you would use for a drop shot is fine. Personally any St. Croix in the MLXF in your budget is all you would ever need. At least around here ,feel like it's a bait that's in decline plus it gets bit on the drop so much that sensitivity isn't a factor .
  16. Yep. That will do it.
  17. All Zoom Finesse worm Trick Worm Mag. Trick worm Ol' Monster in summer time.
  18. I would bet that there is a new GLX in the works.
  19. I think that's one of the older saltwater popping rods. Is it blue ? Back in the day they were real popular for cranking. Close to the CBR 845. I had one 12 or 15 years ago. wish I had kept it. As to value, $75-$100.
  20. The original trick worm or Danny Joe's float well. As MN fisher said the salt will make them sink.
  21. I throw the Flats more in the spring /prespawn when the water starts to warm and the fish move up on the bank. Around here we throw the wiggle wart/RK crawler during the winter in water that's high 40's to low 50's and they bite them into the 60's. So, I would get some with a wide wobble that run deeper.
  22. It will even out after you fish it for a while.
  23. If by finesse you mean neds and small swimbaits etc. on 6lb or 8lb. line I'd go with the 2500.
  24. I throw the Norman baby N some in the summertime. But it's a 1/4 oz. , I just throw it on a drop shot rod. I would think 1/8 oz is going to be tough with any wind.
  25. I had one for awhile, I believe it was a 7'1 MH. I thought it was a good rod. The action kinda reminded me of a Cashion. I didn't keep it but that doesn't mean it was a bad rod it just means I move too many rods. They are pretty popular around here and further south.
