  1. With retirement on the horizon the last thing I wanted to do was buy a boat. No chance I will buy a new one . Maybe a used Ranger or another Champion. We have been shopping. lol
  2. Table rock. Cape fair Marina. Very blessed that no one got hurt.
  3. On July 4th we had what they say were 70 mph straight line winds come through. It flipped over our dock and 23 other boats. When the old Triton came down it must have landed upside down and broke every latch so I lost a bunch of rods and tackle. It also tore off 4 graphs and made a pretzel out of the Ultrex. It's a 2015 and the best part about that boat was it was paid for. I will say, the insurance co. has been fair. Luckily I had taken out extra coverage on contents. Standard coverage is 3k, I had 10k and still topped it out but it might be something for everyone to be aware of .
  4. It wouldn't be my first choice, medium crankbait rods are pretty much a one trick pony. I doubt it has enough power for a t- rigged plastic. Maybe a light popper,
  5. Depends on the color and condition. Around here they have to be the craw colors to bring much. I'll take another glass of Kool Aid. The pre Rapala wart has proven itself for 40 years. If you have brown or green craw or the phantom versions of those, probably $40-50. The brown/yellow craw that we call the school bus will be up there also. Every pre rap doesn't hunt but the ones that do are golden. 15 or 20 years ago you could pick them up for $ 100 a dozen and get 6 or 7 that ran good, kinda like the the Cordell red fin, maybe 1 out of 10 was right for the others.. Hammer time.
  6. I don't have that model but I do have a '24 world class, It's a fine rod , I don't think they have sold nearly as well as pure fishing had hoped but there's no denying the pedigree.
  7. I don't but I probably should. I remember my dad using the gold/black rapala and big o back in the day. Thanks for the reminder.
  8. Call Brian at American legacy and ask him what he can do. never hurts to ask.
  9. Here in the Ozarks where the Jerkbait was invented they are called stickbaits. I assume because the original ones were weighted balsa Rapala's. Even the signs over the section in the bait shop where they are sold says stickbaits. The worms you call stickbaits we call Senkos regardless of the brand.
  10. I would never use braid on a stickbait. 10 lb. invisx.
  11. Been my go to finesse jig trailer for 100 years, I tear it back 3 rings for ball heads. I personally don't think water temp has anything to do with the trailer but how fast the jig falls does matter. As streamlined as the speed craw is it's going to fall faster than say a chunk.
  12. I use it more than green pumpkin. Shaky head or drop shot . Personally I always use a Zoom marker to color the tail chartreuse.
  13. I'm not much on using a trailer on a spinnerbait but I do like them on a chatterbait
  14. It's either a Tru Turn or Eagle claw .45. I doubt either are available anymore.,
  15. It happens. Try not to give them much slack once you set the hook. If they swallow a jig you were waay too late.
  16. Yep, a 1 inch finish nail works fine.
  17. Jewel AJ ball head in 5/16 with a speed craw trailer. It's the same as the old Eakins jig, PBJ or a green pumpkin is all you will ever need.
  18. 6ft 10 medium Fenwick Elite. 12lb Invisx 3/0 Hyabusa offset.
  19. We do it a lot around here post spawn. They will suspend deep over trees and are easy to see on 2D. Count the thing down and hop it back.
  20. Old all-star zell Rowland TWS Witch doctor Surman 50 g 24 Fenwick elite
  21. I've been using the x9 in the crystal and like it better than the j braid and 832 I used for years.
  22. Personally, I'd book a guide trip to Texas or Florida.
  23. I fish a smaller profile jig in the summer months like the Jewel pee wee. I never fish anything lighter than 5/16 though.
  24. On my spinning rods with a leader and Bait casters on my topwater rods. Everything else is Invisx or Sniper.
