  1. I'm pretty sure I could get 20% off. No chance I'm covering shipping on that big of a purchase. You can get free shipping on a bag of worms if you have ALF elite or Omnia pro memberships.
  2. Too stiff. i like the MBR 844 better for jigs than I do the 894. A lot of guys like the JWR 894 I'm just not part of that group.
  3. I think the 893 is the best of the bunch. Up to a half oz jig even spinnerbaits , big wakebaits ect. I may be in the minority but I never could like the 894 and tried it twice. It's just too tight for me. The 844 fits me much better.
  4. I always thought the 893 was the best of that whole series. Depending of course on how heavy of a jig or worm you intend to throw up to a half ounce it’s fine
  5. 100 %. The way BPS labels that series is strange but It´s designed to be a big crankbait rod.
  6. 844 MBR. If you prefer the action of the JWR I like the 853/893 the best. The 895 to me is the worst of the series.
  7. If it's on the web page you will have a picture.
  8. You might want to check lucky craft and see if they have anything close in the LV 500. They used to have a pearl with chartreuse stripes in crankbaits may offer it in 500.
  9. If you look on Bill Lewis web page you will see what colors are available.
  10. Contact Mike Russell at bag 5 baits. He can paint you a few however you want.
  11. Nothing wrong with the SLX. The ML power is a finesse deal like a drop shot, shaky head ect. It's going to be way to soft for a crankbait or frog.
  12. My wife and I came to an agreement years ago when it comes to fishing expenditures. I'm retiring in 2 weeks so we may have to make an adjustment. Anyway, you have to actually fish a high end rod to see if it's a benefit to you. I personally like the looks of the NRX but you will have to go through different brands and actions and see what works for you. I went through a Mega bass phase a few years back and decided I didn't care for a rod looking like a light saber. The way they handled the first gen Levante defect was dumb. I had Orochi's and Destroyers and sold them all. I will never own another.
  13. I fish War eagle 95% of the time. The screamin' eagle in particular which is a 1/2oz, bait on a 1/4oz frame and blades. That seems to match most of the bait around here, I will second the SV3 also.
  14. If you decide to head over this way let me know. I can give you a few guys to call.
  15. They will tell you.
  16. My thoughts are different. You don't need 27 different techniques. If your goal is to improve you should go to a lake that's known for bass fishing like KY lake or come on over to Table rock and hire a guide. You will learn more in a 4 hour trip than you will in years on your own. Compare your casting to his and see how he finds fish. You will see how you stack up against a talented fisherman and see where you need to improve.
  17. That Izorline is tougher than a Kroeger steak. I'm using up a spool of Yo zuri flouro now in 6lb. It's about like the 8lb Invisx I usually buy.
  18. I do, A little longer than the hook point and fan it out.
  19. Unless the water is really clear probably not. Just a guess but I would think 12lb big game is about the same diameter as 15lb.Invisx . Back in the day I used 6lb. on my wiggle wart rod in an effort to get them to run deeper. Considering the value of those old baits it always made me nervous..
  20. I would go at least 100 . Assuming you palm the reel when you work a walking bait I would try different ones on the rod if possible until you find what's most comfortable.
  21. You should definitely stick with mono if you have those kind of issues with braid.
  22. I don't know who makes it anymore. At one time it was seaguar . In any case , do yourself a favor and buy a spool of Invisx or Sniper.
