  1. Wheeler picks are in . Garrett Livesay Fujita Gaston Canterbury
  2. Caught my largest Ned fish ever today . Didnt have a scale. Five lbs I guess . Caught on a rip rap bank.
  3. I never use scents on hard baits. On soft plastics I almost always run a chartreuse garlic scented marker the total length of the bait down the back . Tubes , worms, neds... I cant state that the scent helps at all but I do get a lot of bites so it doesnt hurt . I like the way it makes a lure appear. Even on dark lures it gives them a two tone appearance.
  4. I havent used one in a long time. I can remember a day in early spring, I put a green pork frog on a white aggravator with the weed guard retrieved it up to some brush , kill it letting it helicopter down. Hammered them. I used a green frog because a friend told me the color-c-lector indicated green.
  5. One thing can be said about Patrick Walters. The man knows how to finish a tournament.
  6. yep' Having to clean the line every cast or two is a pita.
  7. This might be my last time picking Robertson. He seems to have a difficult time putting consecutive good stingers in the boat.
  8. Fellow anglers that cut me off.
  9. I went from 85% to 71% today . Christe fell 64 places and Robertson 75.
  10. I use to catch lots of bass on jigs but the last couple of years I just cant get bit. Its stupid but it is what it is. I dont force it , just throw what the fish are willing to bite.
  11. My last fishing trip I kept on the move. The bass were not hitting worms or jigs very well so the more cover I could hit with a spinnerbait or buzzbait the more fish caught. Things change. Thats why I like bass fishing . Its a game with me.
  12. Honest, I still have a bottle of Hai Karate. I dont know if it repels bass but it repels ladies.
  13. If you dont want to spend the money on crawdad imitating trailers , see if you can find Mister Twister double tailed grubs. They work great. ...or BPS.
  14. I bought a ml baitcasting rod and lost a lot of fish with it. I no longer use it.
  15. I've caught some big bass on those sudden warm ups. They usually come on steep. rocky, sunny banks in the afternoon. My most successful lure has been a crankbait such as a Wiggle Wart cast parallel to the bank and retrieved very slowly.
  16. I'm lucky. My wife and son dont like to fish. As far as friends go, I dont take them . Bass fishing is my time. Too many times I hear the words "I have to be back by..."
  17. I can fish it in aging standing timber but brushpiles , laydowns... I usually snag on the first cast
  18. I like this around bluegill beds. It has a tarnished gold blade , doesnt have a lot of flash but still some. Bluegills dont flash.
  19. I went yesterday and the water had maybe three inches of visibility. Started off throwing a chartreuse skirted bait with gold Magnum willow blades . Missed a few bass and caught two under the chin . When bass are hooked under the chin that means they are hitting the blades. I switched to a badly tarnished gold willow and copper Colorado , chartreuse skirt and no more blade strikes. It doesnt flash as loudly so the bass hit the bait instead of the blades..
  20. Lets narrow it down for me. Best jig for brush-piles?
  21. Around my area the most common green stuff is chara. I fish the edges with spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, spooks or whatever top water floats my boat. Fishing on top of the slop I use frogs and toads.
  22. My first 2024 bass was caught on a beetle spin without the spin, so basically a Ned.
  23. Went fishing yesterday and used my Leatherman three times. Twice to resharpen hooks and once to tighten loose screws on my seat.
