Submerged Trees
If the entire tree is submerged, where you cant see them except with sonar, I dont have a lot of experience with those . If they are emergent, probably my top lure has been a Squarebill . I dont like to use deep divers because the line gets hung up on limbs , then the lure has to be pulled up and over the limb.

Submerged Trees
Standing trees or horizontal trees?

Big bass baits???
top waters consistently catch big bass as do Jig and pigs [pork] . The most important thing, in my opinion, is to fish where big fish like to hang . Cover and/or structure.

Spinnerbait equivalent of a Jackhammer
I must have had some factory seconds because they broke in one season after about 100 bass.

Spinnerbait equivalent of a Jackhammer
I started out yesterday with a Covert, nothing . Threw a unique bait that a member sent me to try out and couldnt cast it . It was too heavy for my rod and couldnt get it "in" there . Switched to one of my basic , nothing fancy, hand poured spring-time baits and caught a dozen .
-
What is your most productive technique right now?
Went yesterday for the first time . Caught thirteen , two keepers with spinnerbaits in wood.

Crankbait, Jerk bait colors.
I like the Fat Raps a lot in the silver foil , gold foil and perch .

Karens & Kens confronting you when fishing!
I dont remember having any major confrontations while fishing . I had a good one while metal detecting .

This is starting to make sense…
I just try to catch fish . Sometimes by doing something I'm not comfortable with . Thirty years ago I was mostly an off-shore structure fisherman. Today I am mostly a shallow water junk fisherman . As anglers got better those good off-shore spots became not so good.

Highly pressured lakes
Sometimes I resort to smaller lures , quieter , less bright , less action. A lot depends on how good is the the competition. Catching fish around skilled anglers is a lot more difficult than the not-so-skilled.

Spinnerbait equivalent of a Jackhammer
I didnt like the Terminators that a lot of people love but I dont catch pike ,. They kept their shape all right, then break unexpectedly . A stainless wire spinnerbait will start getting bent easily with every bass giving a warning that its time to retire that bait .
-
How accurate are you estimating a fishes weight ?
I'm better at guessing the weight of other people's fish than at mine.
-
are you retired? do you fish ALL the time?
There you go.
-
are you retired? do you fish ALL the time?
I retired at the end of 2021 and fish about the same . I plan on fishing more it just never works out that way .

Uploading photos that are too big
I use a computer and if right click on the photo , it gives a resize option. Dont know about a smart phone , I dont have one of them things.

Spinnerbait equivalent of a Jackhammer
The Covert has Hildebrandt blades which are nice . Still I dont think they catch more fish than any other brand .
-
What is your most productive technique right now?
Spinnerbait in a pond . Thats all the fishing I've done so far .
-
How do you fish in the spring?
I just target shallow water and the cover there . Lots of different lures . Just keep moving and make productive cast . Eventually a few fish will be caught then start patterning them .

Tail Spinners
I used the Little George some but had lots of problems with them. Often the spinner didnt seem to spin on the lift, at least I couldnt feel it . They snagged often . I had to tie on a barrel swivel to keep the line from twisting . Caught some fish with it but not enough to put up with the aggravation.

Alternative Spinnerbait Colors ?
Some years back there was a hot spinnerbait bite going in the spring just like every spring . After a few weeks the bass weaned off spinnerbaits . Still, everybody were throwing these bright chartreuse lures . I switched to slightly smaller blades and a duller bait-fish colored skirts and the bass responded positively . Been doing so ever since . Still use the bright lures early in the season.

Have any of you ever harvested bat guano?
I watched a lot of Youtube videos and they all claim it is really good stuff , extremely high in nitrogen . The pot growers really like it.
-
Have any of you ever harvested bat guano?
Changed my mind . I have five gallons of guano . Dont know how I'm going to apply it yet .

Internet experts………
I dont pay that much attention to what lures they are recommending. All those configurations of spinnerbaits for example . Dont need a bunch willows, Colorados, Indianas , gold , copper , silver painted... I have my favorites. I just need to present them to the most bass as efficiently as possible. That is where most Youtubers fail. I much prefer to watch someone discus how to approach and fish a dock then some yahoo explaining why I need a multitude of spinnerbait combinations.
