  1. Fishing s l o w has always been easy for me . So has fishing fast .
  2. I love pork but its no longer an option . The #11 pork frog is the most famous but I also liked the eel and spring lizard . As far as plastics are concerned, my most successful are Mister Twister twin tail grubs and Larew Salt Craws .
  3. He was the alpha dog for a few years .
  4. Not really . I've been to a couple of Blues games and watched them win the Stanley Cup that one year . I have never seen the movie Slapshot but plan on watching it today . Showtime is running it .
  5. 15 Ran Crew Cab .7 foot rods Rods go diagonally in the bed . 21 mpg on the road 15 town and road . 12 towing .
  6. I know that . I actually had a 45 record as a kid . The Youtube video , that may have disturbed me as a kid . Thats the most hideous Santa ever , and the three dwarfs... LOL
  7. I hop it like a worm and let it settle on a slack line . I fish from an alum boat often and I can hear a rattling or two tap RES tic-tic as its dropping . I can also hear bass smacking it .
  8. I did not get on a lipless bite at all this year . Bass fishing is funny like that . But three out of the four previous years my largest bass for that year came by hopping a RES off the bottom out on points .
  9. I dont throw them a whole lot but when I do its usually the lift and drop method on points where the RES excels .
  10. Old units can be picked up sometimes for free . Find an old trolling motor and make a portable unit .
  11. I like simplicity . A2D unit with GPS maps is all I require . For small bodies of water I converted an old Eagle Fishmark 320 into a portable unit for jon boats and pelican type craft . All I have to do is push the on button and it displays perfect fish arches and the thermocline .
  12. Try fishing the dam if possible . Cast in deeper water with sinking baits { spinnerbaits , lipless cranks , worms , jigs , grubs...] then retrieve uphill following the contour from deep to shallow , keeping the bait near the bottom 100 per cent of the retrieve . I wouldn't even consider an RC boat .
  13. I use to spend hour upon hour trying to find deep bass that have never seen a lure before . I was successful in the 70's and early 80's . Now its pretty much a waste of time for me . Bass anglers are real good at finding deep bass in this age . I still fish deep structure but dont put in the time like I once did .
  14. Texas rigged Dingers on 17 lb test xl fished on a 7 foot hvy action baitcasting rod . Bama Bug may have been the top color .
  15. My idea and its picking up ground is to limit sonar to one unit up front and one in back . Use whatever .
  16. EMT here blood yes , vomit no .
  17. I thought the same thing . Plus I have access and free camping on a private spot on the same river . All I do there is supply firewood and pick up sticks . Heres the camp fire wood I supplied in 2021 I didnt cut a single log either . Our town has a place for the citizens to dump yard waste , After a major storm there is always a lot of wood cut up and thrown there . I just toss it in the truck and unload it at the camp .
  18. I use whatever weight I cast the best . 3/4 oz is a little to heavy for the 7 foot mh rod I use . A heavier or longer rod may chuck 3/4 oz best .
  19. I hurriedly gotten myself into pickles before . I thought long and hard but figured like you put it a major headache in the making.
  20. I have always been a fisherman first bass angler second . I had a travel trailer on the banks of a shallow bay protected by a levee from the Mississippi river . I developed a successful system to fish for carp that no one else camped there could touch . I didnt keep it a secret either , I showed people exactly how it was done . For some reason no none else bothered to try it .
  21. Not quite free , 800 dollars a year . I was tempted to accept . 15 years ago it was a smallmouth paradise . Constant flooding has seriously damaged the smallmouth population .
  22. I was just offered a cabin for rent . Water , electric on a small river with smallmouth bass . 800 dollars a year . It needs a lot of work. The owner says he would supply the material if I do the labor . Also I would have to mow the grass weekly , about 7 acres, he has a tractor with belly mower . Its a pretty good deal but I have my own house to work on before I redo a cabin . So I reluctantly passed .
