  1. I use Gizits . Years ago I found the 2.5 inch ones on clearance and bought a whole bunch . Been using that inventory ever since . They are a dark root beer color, almost black . I usually touch up the last 1/4 inch of the tails with a chartreuse marker . They work in dirty and clear water .
  2. This works with jigs too . A plastic bait wider than the lead-head will pull free easier .
  3. No doubt they will work and catch a ton of fish just like other spinnerbaits .
  4. There are videos on Youtube , look em up , called knot wars . The man ties knots , attaches weights until they break .
  5. In my medicine cabinet is some Cool Water which I occasionally ,after showering, spray in the air ,one pump and walk through the mist . Then there is an almost full bottle of vintage Hai Karate .
  6. Trilene with monofilament and floro . Palomar with braid .
  7. Vanilla extract behind the ears .
  8. Virgil Ward - Beetle Spin .
  9. I caught an anchor too . Took a long time to get it in .
  10. Fishing under extreme conditions like significant muddy water is excusable , this once .
  11. One afternoon while fishing jigging spoons on the end of a boat ramp I caught a rod-n-reel. dip-net and two . wrist watches .
  12. I havent used a short arm in quite a few years . At one time though I dabbled with them quite a bit . The Zorro bait with the weed Guard was my favorite . I fished it around cover with a pork frog trailer and let it helicopter down through the branches of trees . Mark Twain was a new lake at the time with thousands of acres of standing wood . This was one of my favorite spring-time patterns in coves .
  13. ...also look for the largest trees .
  14. I thought we were going to be drop-shotting jigs .
  15. I havent noticed it .
  16. I use them considerably . I mark cover , break-lines , fish and there is always one ready to toss when I hook-up in open water .
  17. Unless equipped with a weed-guard they are not a snag resistant as a long armed bait . They drop nicely and can be gurgled across the surface with a Colorado blade . I never tried to gurgle one with a willow blade .
  18. Caught my largest Spook bass ever at just over 6 . Made some productive spinnerbaits for muddy water and caught several 5lbers with them when there was almost zero visibility . .
  19. I was there too last spring with the falling water . Caught lots of largemouths using buzzbaits in flooded cover , smallmouths with tubes on points and spots on tubes on the banks where they were spawning .
  20. Never heard of anybody using a mouse for catfish bait . I think cut in half would work well . I would use it .
  21. I Texas rig them in river s for smallmouth .
  22. Steep sunny banks .
  23. Skulls , turtle shells , antlers, I bring them all home .
