  1. I'm sure there is some small effect on bass, probably mainly on smaller bass or just in competition for the small food sources like bream and crawfish
  2. That's a rod you could have 3 of and Do all sorts of techniques with. I kinda want one now. Nice combination btw
  3. Cant remember at the his point but it's either 15lb or 16lb sniper assassin on one and 50lb daiwa j braid to same floro on other. 12 lb sniper is good too.
  4. Follow the docs and the pt. After a few months I dont see anything wrong with practicing pitching in the backyard. Using your left would be a good idea. But you gotta have the discipline to put your self on a pitch count. But having said this, only do it if your docs and PTs say it's ok. I wouldn't try to fish during the recovering time.
  5. I think you will be fine with the 4 power rod. But if you want more power for the 5
  6. Yes both my jig rods are left. My punching rod is left and so is one of my spinning rods. I like that quick pitch and no need to switch on those rods
  7. Good stuff man. I hate having to ship one back for something not my fault
  8. Do u have to send back the rod in question
  9. Kerr can be pretty unpredictable in the spring of the year. Water should be in the upper 50s or low 60s come april. The water fluctuates alot and could be pretty high and stained. Flipping bushes and working around points and secondary points can be productive. Jigs and moving baits like spinnerbaits, swim jigs, paddle tails, and shallow to medium diving cranks work well on Kerr. @Sam could have some good insight on Kerr as well. Kerr is the lake I grew up on, I get down there a few times a year, historically it can be a tough lake to fish, but also very rewarding. I think you can Google it and find alot of fishing reports on one of the local websites. Some of the guys on that forum and site and pretty honest with their reports (cant remember the site name, I'll try to find it and share the link, it normally tells you water level and a close temp) Good luck, if I get on Kerr any in March or early april, ill try to remember to post a fishing bgg report on here.
  10. Wow... man I'd take it back first chance and have it replaced. Probably a very simple fix, but the way it looks makes me wonder if it's a referb. I dont know how that got past QC. If you are dead set on it, take it to a rod builder and have them fix it. But why pay for a fix like that when it's not your fault
  11. Merry Christmas BR. I love you guys, all of you and hope you have a good Christmas holiday with your families. Remember the reason for the season take this time to hold your families a little tighter. Tight lines, Glen
  12. I'm not a guy that follows a specific rod line. I have mostly old powell rods now, but currently a hodge podge of rods from several manufacturers. Wit that said, a champion rod for 185 bucks is a steal. Good rods. Grab them while you can
  13. cant remember, but it was probably a bream in a small creek in nash co. NC with my dad and brothers on a home made cane pole.
  14. Sounds like you have a good budget. When it comes to weightless senko rods, I would base my Rod power on what size line you are trying to use, or what size you want to get away with. I know guys that use Medium light rods with light braid and 6-8 lb floro, and I know guys that are on the opposite side, that throw them on straight 14lb floro. Cant go wrong with a M/F or a MH/f. Good luck with it .
  15. I also have the powell 714, it's one of my jig rods, I like it for 3/8 to 3/4 jigs and heavier buzzbaits, frogs, and even ploppers
  16. Really anything... I've thrown JERKBAITS and topwaters and ever small cranks. I honestly think that it does ok with cranks but u r better off using a cranking rod. I have used mine for a little bit of everything. I really like throwing soft plastic swimbaits, flukes, senkos, weightless brush hogs, buzzbaits on them. They are my utility rods... they just flat do everything well. But it excels as a bottom contact rod and does really well with the moving baits like swim jigs, spinnerbaits, paddle tails.
  17. Well, it used to be the Endurance was the upper rod, now it's the max. I have the old ones. I have 2 old endurance 723. Excellent for t RIGS. Lighter jogs, spinners and chatters. It's not a true medium heavy more like a mag medium. But again I'm talking about the older ones
  18. They look amazing
  19. I dont think there's anything wrong with those rods. Havent heard a negative thing about them. Roumbanis is a good fisherman, if he had some insight in making those rods with dobyns you woo be in good shape.
  20. Peg that weight so when it hits weight cant slide back and run your skip
  21. Take it from a recovering alcoholic... in your budget, Teeling is pretty darn smooth for the price. I found it when I was traveling around Delaware several years ago. Red breast is a step above but the last bottle I got was 68.00 I was a beer drinker/ bourbon drinker. But I fell in love with Irish pubs when I was traveling. Really loved the lightness of irish style whiskey. Ii have poured Teeling into my coffee thermos with some black coffee more times than i care to remember. Yall drink responsibly And dont let it get too good to you. I'm in permanent time out for all things alcohol.
  22. I'd be ok with expanded college play offs, but I'd want to reduce the number of regular season games for them. Expand the play off and it's more games for those teams..more wesr and year on alot of kids about to go pro. I dont see it happening. Schools ain't gonna wana lose money. By shorting regular season. I dont see any changes happening anytime soon. I do feel like some teams are cherry picked tho.
