  1. Depends on accessibility. 4 rods usually.
  2. Hell yeah, congrats man!
  3. I have a community pond like this, but this pond has had bass for a long time. I've never caught a bass over 3 lbs in this pond. Most of the fish you catch are around 1-2 lbs. There was a fish kill due to bacteria about 4 years ago, basically destroyed the perch/sunfish population. It helped that it killed some of the bigger guys, but I don't see many panfish at all. Our local natural resources do stock the pond with brown trout every year, but I don't think enough survive during the course of the summer to sustain a population or there is much competition the bass eat up all the trout fingerlings. They stock it yearly as they have a kids derby. This pond is so pressured that a finesse approach is best. I catch numbers drop shots, split show and jigs. They don't see this much from the average angler. Regularly I can catch 10 in a hour, I usually go here to try out new lures or to practice my jig fishing to hone my skills for the season.
  4. I actually had the opposite feeling when I held them side by side. I liked the Zodias better. Again shows you how all us anglers are different.
  5. Good choice, it will do the job well. As for line, my personal preference is braid (10lb or 15) and I would use a leader if needed. If you want to go with Mono - I'd go with 6 or 8 lb test.
  6. For the 150 price range it would be the Fenwick Aetos, I have the 7' M/F it is always on deck.
  7. Go for the deal, think about it this way. In a few years from now when the new generation goes on clearance, you can pick one up then on clearance. I always try to get the deal, don't care for the latest and greatest normally.
  8. Ive been looking for one of those for finesse. Nice grab!
  9. As seen in the other thread. They are fantastic. What is the power/action? The 1st gen Cumara is my 2nd favorite Shimano rod. For 110 that is freakin' awesome!
  10. It's basically foolproof! Get one of these. Then for added safety for the baby get these and this! In all seriousness, it is very exciting to have children. It's an awesome feeling to be a dad. Congrats!
  11. Just carry them around while you're bank fishing. They have those baby carriers. While you keep them warm and safe (and you stay warm) you're helping out the wife!
  12. I just sold my last one. It's been a week now, kind of feel sad.
  13. What he said, they last forever.
  14. Snakeheads Here is an article Florida Snakeheads
  15. I owned a Sienna and it was a workhorse not a single problem. Decent starter reel.
  16. I'm in the hunt for more, these are my 2nd favorite Shimano rod. Number 1 is a Cumulus which is even harder to find. For 120 I would buy a couple.
  17. It is above freezing for the first time in 37 day calendar days and in less than a week we stay above freezing!!
  18. Fast usually for wacky rig. I use a XF for shaky, but I'm not an expert on shaky.
  19. Oh definitely you are missing out, using baitcasters increases your catch rate by 10 fish a day.
  20. That is how mine is.
