Been at least a couple years since I remember seeing an app thread. What apps contribute to your bass fishing? Any you recommend? My (Android) list hasn't changed much in recent years. Weather.com. I have used a dozen others, but despite its shortcomings, I always end up back on weather.com Tides Near Me. Still fastest, cleanest no frills tide app that I have found. Fishing Chaos and TourneyX- different tournament apps for catch, photo, release (CPR) tournaments. Garmin Active Captain. I don't synch my phone except for updates, but it is nice to have charts available on my phone for study I like the idea of Go Paddling for launch options, but I admit that I don't use it much Anyone use a river app on android? NOAA is fine, but can be a pain tracking levels on phone

I wasn't even laughing about o-rings....just that is nearly impossible to leave a hardware store without buying something I didn't know I needed when I walked in

One thing that helped me with another interest that can be subject to 'over acquisition'....was when a friend asked me how I felt when I close my eyes and imagine my widow's next husband smoking my cigars.....can be extrapolated to lures and rods I haven't used yet...lol

I always called my knot a Crazy Alberto, but google isn't my friend and I now have no idea what's a modified albright, a modified Alberto, a special albright or ????? I put braid through leader loop, and do 7 turns down, 7 turns back and bring braid tag back through leader loop same way it went in. I do increase to 10/10 turns when using Gliss, because it is so slick

Sure.....but not so that I'm concerned. It was nearly out of control for first few years of bass fishing, but much less so now. Most of the tons of stuff I will likely never use were bought when finding out what worked for me and what didn't. I have found organizations that support youth or disabled vet fishing opportunities and occasionally dump stuff on them. I do need to start losing crankbaits at a faster rate.....and terminal drawers are overflowing. But all in all, I don't think I admit that I have a problem....today

Any line can eventually twist enough to make wind knots more likely. Braid covers up the problem longer, but still needs to get untwisted at some point. Using a leader with slightest tag end to catch a guide on the way out will allow you the pleasure of getting that wind knot even before the twist is too bad.

I make it a point to always bring in more trash than I generate. Probably easier in a kayak than it would be in a boat. A couple weeks ago, I pedaled over to pick up a wayward yellow and orange 1 inch bobber. As I went to grab it....it took off. I chased that stupid bobber for about 15-20 minutes. Got a paddle blade on the line underneath and couldn't nudge it closer. Never saw what was on the other end.

Congrats to @everythingthatswims. First place in a 192 angler tournament on the the Susquehanna this past weekend. Thats two 5-fish limits, averaging 18.8" SMB's. Quite the bag. Ewing not too shabby, either. I know he hasn't been around for a couple years, but I also know that there were others here who had been interested in hearing of hos tournament successes.

The 4 inch Rage Bug is easily the most productive bait I have ever used. I have one tied on (t-rig, usually) almost always.

You laid out your hypothesis in the OP. Seems it has been affirmed. What is your specific question? Do you have a spinning rod? A casting rod? What has been your experience thus far? And how can we help.

I've almost quit eggs altogether. Tge flavor in grocery store eggs has just about disappeared. And local eggs have been very hit or miss. More bad ones than great ones.

Soon. Lol....I noticed in another thread that a few BR members are ordering. I have the 7' MF (which I haven't seen for sale). I got it as a warranty replacement for an AG rod from a discontinued model. It is very light and sensitive. It serves very well as my primary jerkbait rod. It does part time duty as a light t-rig rod. My only complaint has been that the optimum lure weight for casting has a pretty small window. I don't know the 'official' weight rating, but it unfortunately doesn't load up well with light baits. I have to use 3/16 or 1/4 with light plastics, when I might prefer 1/16 or 1/8. I've seen reviews of the MH rods in the lineup and nobody has suggested the same is true for those.

Less true. Of course there is spinning gear that will do all that just fine. Not me. Not most. But there are plenty of spinning anglers out there with HF spinning rods catching frogs and punching. This is a fair statement.

I enjoy a lot of metal, but my tastes demand melody and 'singing' and reject screaming, growling, yelling, etc. I enjoy quite a bit of the classic metal and nu-netal bands mentioned above. I am a sucker for some of the best vocalists....Dickinson, Dio, Halford...could sing Julie Andrews covers and I'd listen to them I can be snobbish about my tastes... also contradicting and illogical...but I am always correct...LOL

Wear sunscreen If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it Keep your head in the game. Every bite, every rock, log, weed, is a piece of that day's puzzle. The bites, especially....one bite tells you a lot; 2 or 3 in similar 'circumstances' can put you on course for a successful day....IF you are paying enough attention

I have never used a bead or a peg on a Texas Rig. I have my doubts that a bead would have helped, @radiant. Possibly, if you are using old (budget?) tungsten without inserts....but weight busting or cutting a knot isn't too common, I don't think

I did for years. (Used weighted hooks for Rage Bugs. In fact, it had a name for a while: Rage Rigged.) Gammy weighted hooks, using a hitchhiker. Once I started using Owner Twistlocks, I switched to T-rigging. What I lost in action, I more than made up for in hookup ratio. I know there's a LOT more swimbait hook options nowadays, so maybe I should revisit....but I sure do love my Twistlocks

I quit wearing watches soon after I started carrying a phone all the time. I do use the clock on my Garmin when fishing, though.
