  1. We had 4" of rain! It melted the 10" snow I got 2 weeks ago.. FLOODS.. Then sleet for 4 hours, then 10 to 14" of Snow on top of that... A couple days around 0* then back up to 50 & 60* Crazy, and problematic weather.. This one bites! It will Flood again next week...
  2. Love the intro, I coulda swore I heard him utter, I've never been able to start this motor! Omg, I swear I pulled a rib muscle laughing at this vid. Geez, A-Jay & Dwight, is this the way it was on Erie?
  3. Oh lord.. Lol!! Hey Ed!!!
  4. 34. Guys @ BR ~ I really don't like my tongue & nipples pierced, this stud in my mouth is uncomfortable...
  5. Plenty good, a good rod helps as well as doing your part.. = Success!
  6. Well, I will be building a snowman later, as they are saying a foot of snow here, sorry I have no sympathy for your duress. Lol, throw a shad rap #5 then jig & trailor, those are sound choices. Good fishing, I guess.. Lol
  7. I don't see a issue with 2" on a glass rod, do you? It would be a good target casting rod, longer rods (glass) would allow longer casting.. As far as new standards, I guess it changed a few years ago, Jumping a couple inches across the board, although I couldn't say why ( bait monkey? ) Topwater I like higher speed, but that's me, some like 5 to 1 it just depends on user.. Are you looking only at crankbait rods?
  8. I don't know if $10 or $20 is going to push you into a non junk category, but, I can say that @$60 The pfluger president is a very good reel. It's available in about any size you want. As far as the trion, never owned one.. But if these guys compare it to a president, that's money you can take to the bank!
  9. Yup, although as a young teen, in a small river a smallmouth which appeared to be quite large was stranded in a fairly shallow pool (4' ) & crystal clear. I & another fished this bass for a week, everyday.. Notta chance.. Fish just would not strike.. Hmm, throwing a crappie jig on the final day I saw him dart at the jig! Bam! Fish on.. Short battle and I had him.. But, but, he was hooked in the side! Snagged.. Even then at 14 I was aware that it couldn't count. I don't know why, but it can't count.. Don't know the weight , it doesn't matter. It was a obsession for a week, I still remember it well! Fish was also released, but for the life of me I don't know why. Maybe it was a result of Bassmaster magazine which I was a proud member of...
  10. I don't fish shaky.. But do wacky, for me, I like a fast action.. In a Kistler or Loomis way...
  11. I tend to use a fc in 6 for wacky rigging, Yo for about everything else, with cxx, and cx being used as well. Silverthread is a good line. However, I'm now very concerned that I will Only catch small bass on FC line! What shall I do?
  12. LOL, I know what your saying.. But.. Some years are very mild, then, you have more difficult years, Kentucky has a poor reputation about rolling the dice as far as snow removal equipment and money allocation goes. The Rugged terrain (dramatic changes in elevation and often) compound these issues. I believe in the northern regions of the US, snow, ice, cold is as certain in the winter, as it is uncertain in Ky. It HAS to be a way of life in your prior state. At anyrate, I can understand how it appears laughable... Go UK! Undefeated Baby!!
  13. Upsize your hook, a #2 seems a bit small on a 6" & 8" plastic worm, on 4" I use 1/0, 6" to 8" 3/0 Use a Straight shank or a Round bend offset, I do not use ewg hooks here... You might also consider a more stout rod as well, as I remember, Duckett seems to run soft,
  14. Prayers sent..
  15. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WANNqr-vcx0 Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit"
  16. #2 hooks? Ok, wacky rigged or? I believe your rod is to soft for a trig hook set, I use mono on baitcasting no problems ever on hard sets, with the right setup... I use medium rods for exposed hooks, wacky, open hook tube rigs,etc.. My guess is its NOT the line but rather your Duckett and hook..
  17. Bass Assassin's great! I knew someone(Roger) Would tip their hand! Whoops...
  18. He was a Aircraft Pilot as well, he crashed a Hi performance single engine plane on take off..
  19. Not exactly a tube head, but take a look at Owners phantom tube hooks, I use these a lot when flipping tubes...hooks with weight attached by fine braided wire, great for maintaining a horizontal fall, rather than the typical nose down spiral
  20. My favorite fluke is... There are some secret's I hang on too!
  21. Geez, now they ( Weather ) are stating 1 foot of snow for me! I don't know which is worse.. A foot of snow, followed by Arctic air, or Super cell's,lol
  22. Seriously?
  23. That bear clearly works for the Kremlin...
  24. All good advice, I will only add.. Use what you want, what keeps you fishing, what gives you the most pleasure, I use both, and enjoy both! Best wishes..
  25. Uh, yea, plenty, lol.. Ok I'm not in the braid camp at all.. For many reasons, but I throw monos and FC on spinning with no trouble, ever... I change line quite often, more than most. I felt like 832 probably threw better than any braid I've tried.. If your still interested in braid, maybe give it a whirl. Line is always going to be prone to damage no matter what it's made of.. But I do see braid as a hinderance in Rocks, etc.. But not in soft cover, hydrilla, pads,etc..
