  1. X2 I endured the wait...
  2. I will second this. I have several Scorpion 19's and they do perform better (for me) with all four brakes on. They are very smooth casting and there is little to no appreciable difference in casting distance. FM
  3. It is quite possible that the fish in your creek relate to current. It brings the food to them. No current in the deep hole, no food there? The deep hole maybe a resting/suspend place for them when they aren't on the feed. FM
  4. I'm kinda fond of the Anchor. Now for a tiny boat bobber and the Jaws sound track with the line "We're gonna need a bigger boat". FM
  5. Seriously, Tackle Warehouse usually runs Tatsu on special during their 25 days of Christmas and if you combine it with the 10% off on a gift card they promote over that period. You can usually get it significantly cheaper then retail.
  6. Central Texas lakes, Whitney, Belton and Stillhouse Hollow all have good populations of smallmouth. They are also caught in Canyon lake and the Devils river. I suspect a bunch of others are out there too but the one's I have named above have some serious Smallmouth. Whitney lake record is 7.7 lbs, Belton and Stillhouse is 6.4 & 6.7 Canyon lake is 6.1. Devils river 5.0. See above, FM
  7. As far as I know Keitech doesn't make ribbon tail worms. You can use one of my favorite methods of altering larger worms. Bite'em down or cut down a 7" ribbon tail to the size you want. Berkely power worms, Culprit and Zoom are all "tasty" canidates for a Bite down. The power worms have a unique flavor too! FM
  8. Yes, try fishing the "new" shallow water, especially when it is on the rise. FM
  9. Spot on JJ! I love the Hank Parker Classic and I hate the twisted eye. FM
  10. I'd love to have a Zbone. But I find it really hard to justify even at 35% off. I've lusted for one for years. I had/have carpel tunnel issues when I throw the spinnerbait too much. I prefer a 1/2 oz bait with double willow leaf blades. It gives me a ton of thump and it has a lot of resistance in the water. The normal diameter cork grips make me strain to grip the rod tightly enough to be able to work the spinnerbait like I would like too. The fatter Winn grip really makes a difference for me. FM
  11. Kistler Mag2 6'10" MH/F is my weapon of choice for spinnerbaits. I like the fatter Winn Grips for keeping a firm grip on the rod while working the spinnerbait. It is short and accurate enough that I can roll cast it very low to get under overhanging trees and under most docks. It's just long enough to get around the bow of my kayak if needed. I'm using a Metanium HG and it balances well with that rod. FM
  12. Thanks for the heads up on that AJ. Got a 7'2" heavy casting coming.
  13. I don't even know that I noticed the different handle length. They handle light lures very well. I'm using a 1/8 oz. ball jig head with a 5" finesse worm (probably close to or over a 1/4 oz.).
  14. Pssssttt, River2Sea Bling 1/2 oz Chartruese w/gold willow leaf blades. From another spinnerbait junkie. FM
  15. I have several (5) of the 19 Scorpion MGL's. I love them! Super smooth, cast like a dream and when or if you get one. Take into consideration this bit of advice. Engage all four brakes on the spool. It does cast much better like that. My first couple I had just engaged two of the brake tabs and it made the reel very easy to birds nest. Fishingmickey
  16. 6'11" Shimano Poison Adrena M/F casting will be here Monday! FM
  17. Dang Ajay, I have seen that picture at least ten times. Each time I do, I think man what a pig! Gotta be a fourty or fifty pound fish. That "eating" grin on your face says it all. Priceless! FM
  18. You might find that a MH XF would be too stiff of a tip for casting a light T-rig. I'd stick with the MH F. The Grande bass air tail rattler has some weight to it. After the first cast the rings/ribs hold water and make it even heavier. FM If your like me Catt, you'll really like the Argon. I have two and just flat excellent rods. FM
  19. The 20 Metanium is a heck of a reel in my book. Side plate is similiar to the Bantam. If feels very soilid like the Bantam too. I have two 20 Met's and love them both. FM
  20. Thank you for your insights and positive outlook Oregon!
  21. I fish, there for I am.
  22. WRB has it spot on, Fiberglass replica's look much better and last a lot longer. FM
  23. Dunno, but my wild ass guess since knots are out of the equation. Could you be chipping/chipped the glass bead and that sharp edge is cutting the line? FM Love the 2010 thread resurrection.
