  1. With the wide gap twistlocks they sit just like a regular ewg.
  2. I have some spro squarebill crankbaits that have them. I don’t fish them enough to notice the difference.
  3. I fish flukes with owner twist locks. I’ve posted this before, but I think it’s worth posting again. This is why I use the owner twist locks: https://youtu.be/LdzuAaAbgZs?si=Qz2eLRDoHw68_Ryp 3 ways to rig a fluke: https://youtu.be/IdZAi0aAniI?si=rW0FS-nZbOAxb523 These are not my videos, just videos I’ve found helpful. I apologize if posting these is against the rules!
  4. It was made by a friend that is no longer with us and I don’t have the heart to fish it and risk losing it as it’s irreplaceable. I keep it with me for good luck.
  5. From the bank, I just fan cast all the way around 180 degrees. I cast as far as possible. Like WRB said, take note of where your bites are and you’ll figure out where they are.
  6. I’ve never had that problem and I have a custom living rubber jig I’ve never used that’s been in my tackle bag since 2013. It still seems new.
  7. Jun Sonada at Japantackle.com will help you warranty the reel in Japan for a fee. If you ordered from his site, he would do it for free. I would send him an email. He’s very helpful. Edit: dang it, didn’t realize how old this thread was. What I said still stands for anyone who has issues with a JDM reel.
  8. Like I said above, I love your mata jigs (silicone/rubber)! šŸ‘
  9. What are you all using as far as color?
  10. I like Siebert’s mata jigs. They’re part silicone and part living rubber. You get the color you want while still getting the movement of living rubber.
  11. I didn’t necessarily mean they committed patent infringement or had any ill intentions. I was genuinely just curious if it was a similar braking system. Thanks for the insight. šŸ‘ Semantics 😁
  12. Oh, I knew it was old. Just making sure I wasn’t missing anything. Thanks for clearing that up.
  13. I was curious about their new ā€œparamagā€ braking system so I clicked to learn more about it. From what I’ve seen, it’s very similar to Daiwa’s braking system. Am I mistaken? Not trying to throw shade at Lew’s btw. I’m just curious. https://www.lews.com/en/learn/paramag-braking-system?utm_source=Lew's+Fishing&utm_campaign=b6a1210f26-L_Paramag_25&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_a71b12a350-e2ad58cd70-86823911&mc_cid=b6a1210f26&mc_eid=5ae35ec525
  14. I’d appreciate if you’d elaborate.
  15. Did you get a BoM (bill of materials) to see what you were charged? I’m very curious to know if they’re charging the 50% aluminum tariff or not.
  16. Wow. That’s disappointing. I remember back in 2015 I broke a tip top guide (totally my fault) and called to ask for a replacement. They said they would send it out no charge. When I received the box, it had 2 new tip tops in it. I was very happy with their customer service at that point.
  17. Japan tackle is legit like you said. Jun is also a great guy and offers a 6 year warranty on reels. He’ll also facilitate the factory warranty in Japan if you ever need to use it. I’ve never heard of tacklejapan.com though.
  18. Hope it’s ok, I’m bumping this up. Has anyone else gotten one of these rods? What are your thoughts? And to the people who already had one, have your opinions changed?
  19. Interesting. I never thought of using a bfs buzz bait. I’ll have to look into it more.
  20. For grass I would suggest the grass jig (go figure). 😁 I’m sure @Siebert Outdoors will steer you in the right direction. He knows what he’s talking about. šŸ‘
  21. To @sierra11b you need to ask DHL for a detailed ā€œBill of Materialsā€ (BoM). This will have a detailed breakdown of any and ALL charges. That will show what the $150 is for. Lots of mistakes are being made right now, especially by DHL. I urge you to ask for the BoM so you can see what the charge is. This is something that a lot of us would like to know. Thank you!
