  1. Dang that’s nice! The world needs more people like you! I know a gift like that would mean a lot to me so I’m sure he’d feel the same way!
  2. @Maverick2017 Really? Interesting. What didn’t you like about the rod? How was the sensitivity? What would you compare it to sensitivity wise? Oh and what do you mean by “tile snapped off”? Thanks!
  3. What about a brush hog? Kinda looks squidish, no?
  4. I’ve posted this in the past but I can’t find it now so I’ll summarize my opinions and experiences with this. When I was younger fishing for bass, I very much believed in “match the hatch”. I didn’t like using unrealistic colors or unrealistic baits. I started to expand my horizons and use colors like black/blue, chartreuse, firetiger and other unrealistic colors. I started catching more fish. One of my favorite presentations was and still is a Texas rig. I used to use Texas rigged craws to mimic craws of course. I would use worms and some others as well. One bait that really changed everything for me was the zoom brush hog. Everyone seemed to love it, but I couldn’t understand what creature it was imitating. It doesn’t look like any particular animal a bass eats. Why would they bite it? I tried the brush hog and was shocked when I got bit on the first cast. I ended up catching a ton of fish on the brush hog that day. Went through two bags. I loved it. This changed my entire thought process. Instead of thinking that my bait had to look like a known species that bass eat, I realized that a bait just has to look alive or interesting, or elicit a reaction to tempt a bass to bite. From then on, that’s how I’ve been looking at baits. If it looks like it could be a living creature, even a creature that bass have never seen before in nature, it might work. It doesn’t have to look like something bass eat regularly. Sorry for the long winded post. I hope this makes sense.
  5. Thank you very much for the detailed response! That really helps me understand how the PP feels.
  6. I’ll take it off your hands if you don’t want it. 😁
  7. I’m with you on that. I use tatsu exclusively. I have been curious lately though about shooter/sniper. Would stiffer line = more slack/semi slack line sensitivity?
  8. You’re a few weeks late. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/267045-shimano-price-increase/
  9. I haven’t fished a rooster tail in years. I wanna try it now after reading your post. I’m sure the fish here have never seen one.
  10. Interesting. The underwater footage I saw from tacticalbassin (sorry, can’t find it now) showed the spunk shad making the bladed jig a lot more erratic compared to the zako. I thought the erratic nature of the bladed jig was the reason it gets bit. I’ve never tried anything other than the spunk shad, especially after that video reaffirmed my feelings. I should probably give the zako a shot to see if I’m missing out. That could explain things. I live in south Florida. The water is never cold!
  11. Wasn’t the shimano price increase posted weeks ago? Edit: https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/267045-shimano-price-increase/
  12. Thanks. So you think tatsu has a lot of stretch compared to other fluoro? I never felt like it was excessive, but maybe I just haven’t used any low stretch fluoro.
  13. I wish you good luck. Please let us know what happens.
  14. Idk. I only use the spunk shad. Never felt a need to try something different.
  15. That’s not true anymore. De minimis is gone for all countries unfortunately.
  16. What do you like better about the R18 LTD compared to tatsu?
  17. Craw baits like the rage craw used to work really well for me when I lived in the northeastern US. Since moving to south Florida I haven’t had the same success with them. I’ve noticed beaver baits work much better for me down here. Beavers worked well up north too fwiw. I only mention this because I find it perplexing and I’m always curious to hear if others have had a similar experience to me or the opposite.
  18. 25lb tatsu fluorocarbon takes care of the thick Florida weeds. 😁
  19. Be careful ordering from Japan right now. Depending on the duties that will be added to the order it might end up costing almost as much as buying from a US retailer. Not to mention the fact that if you buy from Japan you get now warranty.
  20. Thanks! Would the fmj work for 3/8oz jigs/T-rigs? @softwateronly I know it’s been a couple of months but how do the actions between the 755 and the power pitch compare? I love the power/action of my champion extreme 745 so I’m really curious how the power pitch compares.
  21. here is the actual text of the EO. A country with tariffs under 16% (Japan is 15%) will be charged $80. I think it’s up the the carrier to choose wether to charge the flat fee or the actual tariff rate. We’ll just have to wait and see. (b) A duty equal to the effective IEEPA tariff rate applicable to the country of origin of the product shall be assessed on the value of each dutiable postal item (package) containing goods entered for consumption. (c) A specific duty shall be assessed on each package containing goods entered for consumption, based on the effective IEEPA tariff rate applicable to the country of origin of the product as follows: (i) Countries with an effective IEEPA tariff rate of less than 16 percent: $80 per item; (ii) Countries with an effective IEEPA tariff rate between 16 and 25 percent (inclusive): $160 per item; and (iii) Countries with an effective IEEPA rate above 25 percent: $200 per item.
  22. “It’s a miracle!” 😂
  23. I’d like to try night fishing down here in south Florida. It’s so hot right now I just don’t like being out during the day. Any south Florida members who would be willing to show me the ropes, I’d really appreciate it!
  24. I completely neglected to mention line conditioner. Do you use any? Something like KVD line and lure helps tame FC down and makes it more supple/manageable.
