  1. The 10 pound 4 ounce was in NY.
  2. Awesome! Glad to hear it’s working out. Thanks for letting us know!
  3. I said that more in response to people saying that you need to start by finding a place that has big bass in it. I disagree with that sentiment. How you twisted that into me saying “go fish any place that has bass in it” is beyond me. Agree to disagree. I caught my largest bass (10 pound 4 ounces) out of a 1.5 acre pond. We would catch dozens of dinks an hour in that pond. I never thought big bass would live there and then one day…
  4. I think it’s one of those things you just have to get used to. If you can’t get used to it then stick with a different brand.
  5. Do any of you find they last longer on a weighted owner twistlock than a jig head?
  6. I disagree with the sentiment of needing to “find a place that holds giant bass”. In my humble opinion, any water that has bass in it could possibly have giant bass in it. I’ve caught absolute monsters out of tiny ponds no more than an acre or two. I’ve also caught monsters out of giant lakes that are several hundred acres with miles and miles of shoreline.
  7. That’s good to hear. I know digitaka had a similar policy but I have no idea if anyone was charged extra by the shipping company. Hopefully some members will chime in. Oh and about the aluminum/steel tariffs, as far as reels are concerned, they aren’t subject to any additional tariffs like steel/aluminum. Fishing equipment is its own category on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule so it’s only subject to the base tariffs. Woah. Didn’t notice that. That seems odd. Is that reel made in China? That’s the only thing I can think of. I forget what China’s rate was but I think it was around 55%. It just got lowered 10% to 45% the other day fortunately.
  8. The problem is, I don’t think they can make the guarantee about not be charged anything extra after the order. The shippers have been charging “brokerage fees” before and sometimes after delivery. Asian Portal Fishing has no control over what they do. Digitaka said similar. Has anyone ordered from them and then been charged additional fees?
  9. So this happened on multiple Daiwa reels? Do you know what caused them to stick like that? How old were they and have you had any issues since fixing them?
  10. How long does the color bleed take when mixing two different color plastics?
  11. This site is gonna cost me a fortune…
  12. I love my Dobyn’s champion extremes. They’re extremely well balanced. Plus, the lifetime warranty is awesome.
  13. Sounds like a lot of issues. I would expect better from Daiwa. Definitely not comforting to hear as someone who recently got into Daiwa. Is this common with Daiwa? I thought they were pretty bulletproof. Especially the higher end models.
  14. The amount of colors you have is wild! Each one has a time and place? I would feel overwhelmed having so many choices. Couldn’t you technically get away with less colors by consolidating similar colors?
  15. Thanks. That’s weird about the brakes. Have you had the reel cleaned or cleaned it yourself? Or did the brakes just become inconsistent over time?
  16. You might have been using the twistlock flipping hook. I like the owner twistlock open gap https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_TwistLock_Open_Gap_Centering_Pin_Hook/descpage-OTLC.html or the light as suggested by @PhishLI for slimmer baits.
  17. What colors are your favorites?
  18. Crap. Is this a known issue with the steez a2? Is that what you meant by “Daiwa acknowledges the issue”? How much is the part to fix it? How hard is it to fix?
  19. Can you post up a picture of how you’re rigging them? This is a weighted twistlock but it’s how they should look.
  20. So could I put an sv shallow spool in a steez a2 and make that work for bfs?
  21. Steez sv light, is that for bfs? I wonder if it’s just a shallow spool steez sv.
