Thoughts for a versatile spinning rod?
I've fished the 7'-6 steez and addermine. Only handled the 7-1 steez. The 7'6 steez can do just about everything and well too. If you want to wrap up 10 techniques into one rod. That is is the one. No pun intended.

Definition of a ultra light
A rod that doubles over when you hook a bluegill

Conquest MBR Tip snapped
That pretty odd. I would be doing the warranty process for the rod and just be a little extra careful with the next one. I feel like Loomis rods to not have a reputation for being brittle or snapping tips like that. Also very hard to tell how rods are handled and shipped before you buy them and fish. Some places do not tape the rod to one end of the tube when shipping ect...

$1,100 Swimbait!?!
Just bought all three colors and a couple back ups in case I break one off.

Steez AGS 7’6” The One
Handles 110's like a champ. 2.0 crank no problem. This model does almost everything well.

No bite from crankbaits, but lots of bite from Jerkbait, even Evergreen SB125.
I haven't read through all the responses so maybe someone mentioned this but try using some different retrieve speeds with pauses or jerks while fishing the cranks. Sometimes I fish squarebills almost like a jerkbait with pauses and small twitches. If they are wanting the jerkbait though then run with that. I mean what beats a jerkbait anyway? They always work!

Do you seal the cork on your rods with a cork sealer?
I sealed all rods for years with U40 but lately I just prefer the feel and look of them getting used. Just not as concerned about them looking brand new. They catch fish either way

What pliers do you use?
Been happy with Rapala mag spring and Kastking cutthroat pliers. Both are budget friendly and last several seasons. The Kastking saltwater model is awesome. I bring on all my trips and as long and you rinse off they last a long time a well.

St croix victory or legend tournament?
Legend would be my choice! Great design this time around.

St Croix Avid Walleye for smallies
I have this exact rod and fish it often. I honestly love it. I fish for everything with it and its a two piece model so I take it everywhere. Quality blank, great handle design, and covered threads make it super comfortable. I would highly recommend in your budget. The 7-3 ML Legend would be worth a look too in ML XF.

Orochi XX Shakyhead & Expride B 7'M
Just fished the MB shakeyhead model in levante this weekend and it was awesome for wacky fishing. I have fished orochi XX in other models, destroyer, and the expride. You'll like either one.

Increased Spinning Rod Lengths ?
If I could run with 7-3 - 7-6 spinning rods for every technique I would. The casting distance is greatly increased and most high end sticks still feel like a 7' model and balance well.

I’m about to give up on braid —> leader
Fish braid but try Berkley Fire line in 6-8 lb. That line is my favorite with Daiwa J braid being second. Mono or fluoro will drive you crazy too if you switch.

Brand new Daiwa certate makes noise when reeling
I know how to fix it and have fixed all my Daiwa's with this easy move. I boxed them up and buy Shimano 😛 On a side note. I have noticed super high end reels like yours that do have a more unique sound when reeling.

St Croix Victory vs LTB
15 yrs is an amazing warranty for sure and all the options they have to replace broken rods on their site shows they care about keeping customers happy. I still think SC is at the top as a rod company.
-
St Croix Premier Spinning vs Daiwa Tatula Bass Spinning
both winners! Daiwa might be a little more powerful than the SC. SC will have better cork. Daiwa may have the better blank.
-
St Croix Avid Spinning Rods
yes, good choice!

St Croix Victory vs LTB
I've handled the Victory and own LTB models. You will have more sensitivity, better quality cork, and I believe guides are better. I also like the foregrip being a little shorter and the locking nut on the legend is metal. Both great options in their price ranges. Don't forget the new avid models. The new walleye model is killer!

Shimano 20 Exsence BB 3000 MHG question
