  1. Just thought I’d show them since most of you have heard me talk about them. All 5 are 3 minutes from my house. About 5 years ago the local DNR stocked them with bass, bluegill, and crappie. They all fish a little different and have different size fish in them. But kinda cool to have so many so close.
  2. I was just listening to a podcast today about trophy bass fisherman and they were talking about butch. Very accomplished guy I was fishing one day a month or so ago. And a guy was flying a drone all over the pond I was on. Not sure if it was for YouTube. But it was annoying hahaha
  3. That’s the nail I’m using compared to the worms
  4. I could not agree more with all of that. Hahah! Thats funny. Yeah they seem big but they are really light cheap nails. They work well. I probably Do need another one. I’ll send ya a pic of the nails a lil later next to a trick worm. And post it in here.
  5. These are decent sized nails lol. Maybe I’m using 2 much but it’s working. I’d say they are 1.5 inch long 1/8 diameter. They came in a picture hanging kit lol
  6. So I’ve been fishing the Neko rig the last few times out. A couple hours or so each outing. This rig catches fish! And good sized fish!!!!! you gotta be a line watcher. You don’t always feel the thump. I’d say 75 percent of the time I did. I started out with a 1/0 octopus hook. I was missing some hook sets I felt I should have made. The local fleet farm has a good selection of vmc hooks. So I got some size 2 neko hooks. Much much better for my hook set style. baits. I have been fishing the zoom trick worm in black and watermelon red. Or the missle baits quiver worm 6.5” in a watermelon candy type color. They all catch fish. Color didn’t seem to matter. I’m literally using a pack of nails I found in the garage. I threw them on the scale but they don’t even weight a 1/16. But they nose the bait down well. had zero issues catching fish and caught a couple today over 2 pounds. I wish I hadn’t slept on this technique for so long honestly. And it’s night and day better than stick bait wacky worm to me.
  7. I use the palomar for basically everything no matter the line. but I have a version of the uni knot my dad taught me as a kid that we called the nail knot. It works with anything. And I doubt I’ll ever forget it. If for some reason it’s dark or the winds blowing something causing me to not be able to tie a palomar fast. I can go right back to that knot and tie it fast.
  8. Dang! Thank you so much. I may have to give a tube a try. I’ve always avoided them forever because I didn’t think they could be rigged weedless
  9. Do you literally just Texas rig the tube? Doesn’t stay on the hook well? I can’t say I’ve ever even had a tube in my hands so I have no idea what they are like
  10. Not sure if it’s always that way or I got lucky lol. I’ll have to order something some time and see. I’m trying to not buy anything else the rest of the season lol
  11. In in Iowa. So not far. But I couldn’t believe how fast they shipped and how fast I received my order lol. It was next day.
  12. Wow see that’s kinda crappy. But atleast they refunded it. They have the greatest selection I’ve found yet. Over the last decade. But ya definitely wait a while. And they forgot my sticker last $50 dollar plus order lol!! And yes I added it to cart.
  13. I have had similar issues. Very slow shipping. Do I have to have the stuff next day to go fish local ponds. Nah. But I’d like it shipped in a timely manner. I literally just placed an order last night. We will see how long it takes. It said delivery date should be June 9. We will see. I’ve had better shipping and buying experience with Omnia.
  14. I thought I had a can of pvc glue in the garage. I was gonna try. But I’m not buying a can just to try it lol
  15. Honestly. I never see people when I fish lol. I usually fish at times people don’t seem to be there. I’d be polite and listen. But unless you really struck me as a person who fishes seriously. I doubt id drag a conversation out.
  16. I’ll look into those!!! Heck I just found out a trick worms come unsalted lol
  17. I was actually looking at the net bait. The tail float up that much better than a trick worm when neko rigged?
  18. No I used spinning combo. I have a casting combo for light lures but I think it would still struggle this light. that was my swim jig rod the fish was laid up against
  19. You’ve taught me plenty! And you kill it when you go out. Half of us would be dang lucky to have the success you do. And your drive is amazing.
  20. That’s what I’m talking about! They’ve never minded my repairs. And it saves a ton of cash
  21. Yep! Thanks!!!
  22. So I went out this morning. Neko rig snagged a few in no time at all. Fished a black zoom truck worm on. A 1/0 octopus hook. With a nail shoved in the head of the worm. I found the nail in the garage. Definitely gonna keep a spinning rod in the truck rigged up from now on. Love a black trick worm takes me back to when I literally started bass fishing

  24. Central Florida, central Iowa are the only places I’ve lived. And bass fished. Drastically different. But not if that makes sense lol.
