  1. Great vid! Guilty of not making enough casts and moving. And not trying new lures. I will tunnel vision on one I’m having success on. Even if the success drops off. After a few trips.
  2. Thanks for the great answers everyone!
  3. I’ve always done the pot of water trick if I do. Drives me nuts getting a bag of flukes and half of them the tails are bent up. I generally let them pile up then I’ll do a bunch of them. That said I fish the kvd caffeine shad now. No more tail problems lol
  4. That’s what he keeps telling me. Sounds like my Tatula xt rods will get replaced lol
  5. @NorthernBasser has spoke so highly of the invoker tour. I’m gonna have to snag one
  6. Oh yeah I forgot all about that. That’s probably exactly why.
  7. I only ever see folks teasing them. And making memes and such. But they are still in business. The stuff can’t be that bad? And I hear about that bandito bug everywhere lol. I see them on sale a lot around me.
  8. Could not care what my reels lol like as long as they are black or dark silver. I have. White reel or two. And don’t care for them. To me bass fishing isn’t a style contest. They are tools of the trade just like my tools at work. I don’t mind the blue or red accents. But just can’t stand the bright awful colored stuff. That’s just me though.
  9. @NorthernBasser has me talked into an ark invoker tour for a bottom contact rod. I think I’m gonna give one a shot and order this weekend. They fall right around that $150 margin and lookin excellent
  10. I generally Fish a 3/16. I’ll use a slow steady retrieve. Give it random pops here and there. I’ve never really tried to fish it like a jerk bait I gotta try that! I have been getting more into 5/16 swim jigs. Since I fish them kinda funny. I’ll use a swim jig to hop off the bottom, drag, swim you name it. They cat filamentous algae so well and grass. So I found the article super interesting.
  11. Man that’s was a pretty good write up!

Totally new to making tackle. I want to make my own jigs and swim jigs. I kinda wana order molded head and hooks and weedguard all done and just do the skirting. can anyone help me wit a reputable company that has this part already done?
  14. Oh for sure. I’ve done it accidentally since I mix a lot of stuff in one bag to cut down on bulk. And for a while years ago I intentionally used to toss a couple culrpit red shad worms or something like that in with other colors. Got some really beat ones that way that caught fish. like @Pat Brown mentioned above. I’m trying not to stress color. Green pumpkin, watermelon red, baby bass. They’ve all caught fish for me on the same day same waters. So I don’t stress it too much. Buttttttt that green pumpkin/black blue mixed colors is about perfect! Works on sunny and cloudy days. Clear and stained water for sure!
  15. Just this year I went back to mono after many years of switching to all braid. I used suffix elite. It’s a great mono. Low memory and just a joy to work with. I tried some flouro. Have never used it in my life. I liked that it sank. But honestly didn’t see the huge need in cost. I have a spool of 15 pound big game I’m actually gonna spool a new reel up tonite with it.
  16. Wow @king fisher that’s one great bag. Man those are some impressive fish. And out of a yak in the wind!
  17. Snagged this guy and a couple others this size this morning. Had a few bites also. We are in the middle of a cool front in the Midwest. And spawn is over so the bite dropped off bad. But it was a success as me and another member were conversing about jig fishing and trying to make it as natural as possible. And it definitely worked. &nbsp sorry for the blur only way I have to size stuff so it fits the site is to email it to myself.
  18. This will be. Great post! Just what I need more vids to watch haha. Debos fishing- he’s a fellow Iowan about an hour and half from me. So I appreciate his tactics for the exact same waters and seasons I fish. And his gear reviews are great. Mikey ballz- great sense of humor. And man a serious angler with great tips all over the country
  19. Maybe I’ll give that a try. If I can find some water with clean bottom lol

Who knows. Bass are unpredictable if ya ask me. You can make a round about guess but it’s hard to pin them down. For me I think fluke style baits work well because of how slow you fish them. Even when a. Fish is off it’s slow enough they can think about it. The long dead pause. Ehhhh ok fine theyll bite. I will say this. On rooster tails I only ever got bit on a nice bright sunny day. Unlike other spinner baits were we are looking for some chop, wind, maybe dirtier water. I needed a nice bright sunny day and burn that thing. That’s what worked for me. And always white. That said I’ve got a few colors I don’t use and neither do my kids I’ll send ya to play with if ya want.
  21. I was wondering about those as well. How do they compare to a zoom trick worm? I know they are stil a pour style mold.
  22. That’s one thing I’ve always used. I seem to fish pressured waters mostly so I’ve always downsized
  23. Exactly what I meant . Bad wording on my part. We have some thick submerged grass here
  24. Anyone use a heavy bait with small creatures heavy grass? Like a 3.5” but a 1/2-5/8 weight? For that fast rof
