When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
All the years I lived in Florida. 36 of them haha.since birth. I threw a jog a few times caught fish. Even my on at the time. And I put them down. Recently moved to the Midwest and can’t get enough of them and broke my pb. I should have thrown them in Florida lol

Green pumpkin/ black blue color baits
Thanks everyone. Gonna order a bulk bag of baby D bombs in super bug then. I think the lil over 3.5 inch bait will do great in the pressured waters I fish as a T rig and jig trailer. And maybe if I ever get into all the free rig business

Green pumpkin/ black blue color baits
Thanks guys. The mixed color combo just seems great. Best of both worlds. And it would be less plastics to carry around

Green pumpkin/ black blue color baits
Anyone have any success on baits that are a blend of black/blue and green pumpkin? All the brands call them different names. I’m a minimalist. And I fish black and blue or green pumpkin a lot. So I was wondering about the combined color as a do all for both as trailers and Texas rigs.

Anyone tried the Deep Dive app?
I wanted to try it. But just haven’t. It would be paralysis by analysis for me. That’s too much. For my brain atleast. I look at the temp, wind and look outside. If it’s overcast it’s black and blue. If it’s sunny something greenish. If it’s in the middle we’ll flip a coin. Water color is the same way for me. I’d spend all my time trying to dial it in on my phone than I would instinctively fishing.

its starting to happen for me. skipping baits.
That’s a good point. Accuracy is a tough one but one that needs mastered. I can pitch and flip like no one’s business I used to stand in the back yard and put small buckets or containers out and do it for hours. Or stand on a bucket and do it. But we did it from kayaks and canoes or boats a tonnnnn in Florida. Now where I am in the Midwest if ya don’t see a lay down. There isn’t anything to flip to really lol. But general casting I’m not the most accurate when I have a baitcaster in my hand. That’s one thing I should practice more.

School me on Flukes
Everyone has pretty much covered it. But I’ll add my 2 cents. I like a white or green pumpkin fluke. I fish them weightless. Usually on braid. It’s either a very fast subsurface retrieve almost walking the dog. Or a super slow dead sticking retrieve. Pop,pop, pop. With 5- 30 seconds between pops. Depends on the time of year.

This is something I always wanted to get good at and just never put the time in. I think I’m gonna work on it for sure this year……… better put some old braid or mono on now lol

Tackle warehouse backpack or other small tackle bag
Thank you!!!! lol I have one sitting on my cart as well. I like the pull to the front feature as well. The current one I have just doesn’t do that to well. But then again it was 15 dollars on sale. So it’s nothing amazing but does the job. I’m sorry you lost your old one!

Tackle warehouse backpack or other small tackle bag
I currently use a bass pro sling pack from the camping section. I’m really minimal with what I carry pretty much a 3600 box, a bp utility binder, towel, forceps, and a luggage scale and lip grip(sometimes). I was looking at the tackle warehouse backpack pack. They look amazing. But would it be to much? Or anyone have any recommendations on a nice small bag.

I've Lost My Mojo
I kinda felt this way. I bass fished for 15 years in Florida. Started at about 22. Always had moderate success. Never caught the big ones ya hear about there. But avidly fished. Moved to the Midwest. Totally different game. Never fished the seasons really. Never lived in snow. In Florida we year round fished. And just slowed the presentation a lil. So I got pretty discouraged. The ponds and lakes here don’t. Have hydrilla, cat tails, fields of lily pads. In my head I was like how do I fish a pond with no cover!!!??? I ended up switching to much smaller finesse presentations. Spinner baits, jigs, plastics. Everything smaller than I’ve ever thrown before. And wow has it paid off. I got my PB of almost 4 pounds here In iowa. Another thing that helped me was picking a lure. I picked the jig. It’s almost all I fish. I’ll mix a lil something else in there but the last 2 months basically has been jigs. And it helped so much. Downsize and keep it simple.

Your Love/Hate Relationship with the Wind
I’ve learned to live with it. I thought Florida was windy till I moved to the Midwest lol. Wow the wind is insane! I’ve had some great days on spinner and underspin baits. Even on jigs! But man casting is tricky I usually try to fish with my back to the wind but the fish aren’t always in that spot

Is flourocarbon worth the headache?

When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
I noticed the claws have no meat attaching them lol. Figured they wouldn’t last long. Man the price of soft plastic baits is getting up there lol. I buy on sale. And if I really like it I’ll stock up some. I’m no pro haha. Just enjoy fishing and tackle. Got a new buzz bait I’m currently deciding when to take out of the package. We are in the low 60s water temp and overcast every day lol

When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
I hit some of those on sale on a random trip to one of the big name stores. I really wana try them too. I’m one of those guys once it’s on the end of the line that’s it for that trip lol. I don’t change much while fishing and only bring 1-2 rods usually so it takes me a while to test stuff lol

When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
I actually chopped up a rage bug last night because I have some lol. I kinda like how it looked and added some bulk to a finesse jig. I also have some of the missle baits mini chunk trailers to try they have great looking action

- When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
Thank you that makes complete sense!!! Ehhhh I’m not sold on nose hooking personally I don’t like how the jig isn’t as compact I agree on the temps!! See I’m the opposite only use chunks. So I’m probably hurting myself there lol- When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
Why’s that? I’ve always threaded them on thick side down and flat side in I think it’s time to switch to some more action then- When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
What do you use to decide? Is it warmer water? The time of year? What makes you switch from a chunk to a jig trailer with more action? What do you switch to? Chunk? Paddle tail? Grub? Double tail grub?!- Daiwa tatula xt review
No worries! Ya know I was kinda thinking that. My mediums that are rated to 5/8. Have a much softer better casting tip. I’m no one to give a review haha. Just trying to help- How’s everyone doing in the Midwest??
Haven’t noticed any beds yet here. But I haven’t truly tried to find any either. I agree with that thin sunny calm day. No bites. Need some wind or overcast - When to switch from a chunk to a trailer with more action
