  1. Drag a C-rig or heavy jig in the transitions from deep to shallow sections and find that structure or piece of cover those big bass are retreating to. They're not just going deep, they're going to a specific spot that gives them the best opportunity to feed.
  2. Santa came early, dropped off a new toy to play with since the weather's been so good! ; )
  3. Jeez, when it said "big baits", I thought it would be talking about the 10"+(up to 16") that I've been experimenting with. 7" is standard size bait.
  4. I'd prefer that they not know I was there.
  5. I used tubes for LM two seasons ago, and was very successful, but I was using a specialized rig called the "Boob Tube", (developed by the Fish'N'Fool, I think). Except I used monster 6"-8" tubes by Mizmo and Basstrix. It worked really well, this time of year on suspended fish. I don't know why I never used it much after that, guess other techniques were just easier. It looks like this...
  6. Each has there place, like J Francho said. If I had to choose, it would be a yak, for the sole reason that I fish too many electric only, and small bodies of water.
  7. If you're on FB, may I suggest the motorized kayak group. Before dismissing a motor on a yak, you might want to check out some of the rigs these guys have, that are easily completed by a DIY'er, and not overly burdensome.
  8. Goose, I put them on both my tiller controlled TM's. There is just that much difference, I've sold everyone I know. Especially on inflatable pontoons.
  9. Largest LMB that I've heard taken out of my home lake this season was taken through the ice.
  10. Ah, as per the poll question(might want to re-read it gulfcaptain)..."in my neck of the woods", its perfectly legal to catch, livewell, and release into another body of water...especially, private water. ; )
  11. If it was established in my neck of the woods...Catch, live well, release into another body of water. Make sure I'm fishing barbless, and shake the "dinks" off at the boat.
  12. I'm in! I'm hoping all forecast are wrong, and I can fish well into December or January(like we had a few years back). I like having the lake to myself.
  13. I found a drag anchor, made from heavy chain, and bike tube works great for fishing in windy conditions.
  14. Oh man! Just spent big bucks with Hudd on their Fall sale, Mattlures is having a release on Monday, and now you show me this!!! GD bait monkey!
  15. Warbaits slayer weedless jigs, I know they make them for saltwater, but might work for you.
  16. Brown, grey, black.
  17. Have had success throwing north side(south facing) rip rap in the morning after sunrise. I'm usually off the water by 10,so can't tell you if it'd be good the rest of the day, but as the water warms it'd probably continue to be effective.
  18. Wheel chair batteries, smaller, and lighter.

    Have you held a Baker?
  20. Texas really? Fish year round! Post pics too, so you make us up here jealous as we stare at the hard water for most of the winter.
  21. It's a 6", like RL said no need for a BB rig, and I use to prefer jig hook over weedless, but I have changed my mind with more experience. 68 over standard. 10% Fall Sale now.

Baker, just as good as a Boga, at half the price, and they make a digital grip too. http://www.bakerfishingtackle.com/
