Yeah it will be may of next year if I'm lucky. I learned on a Shimano castiac with 6 pin brakes. I loved that reel. I've always preferred centrifugal.i knew Lew's was gonna update the pro ti. It was the only one without p2 pinion which is why I never bought one.

I get that. It's my understanding they built the Lew's design first as it was the first reel with those features. As far as I know it was not a Shimano design. Their reel is just a smaller version of the Lew's . Lew's has never built their own reels.it was one of the first companies to start global manufacturing .

Which was Built first? As far as I know the Lew's was. That means Shimano copied it and made it smaller. Don't know if their contract allowed it or not but it certainly wasn't their idea.

No just trying to set the record straight on history of the company and that they have always been built for Lew's. It doesn't make them bad reels as many Shimano Diawa fan boys claim. They have always had a good reputation. Shimano actually stole their first design. Also trying to open people's eyes to the fact that lots of guys on forums trash brands they have never used . I try not to do that when talking about products. I will state what I prefer and why. LOL !!! How true !!!!

I knew about that. That's different from outright ownership. Browning also built Lew's reels. They were actually at a high point for that time in quality.
