  1. Just like anything all it takes is for a person to do some research. We have information at our fingertips now. If you don’t understand something just look it up. The MLF Series is completely different and is filmed the year before it’s on TV. The BPT is live and a different format.
  2. The Vibe Seaghost is a good one for under $1000. The Pelican Catch 120 is a great one for the price. I recommend the NuCanoe Flint for $999 though. Looks for these on sale or used. The Pelican can be found on sale for a very good price new. The other will most likely need to be used for great prices.
  3. Here's a link to the Trail Series schedule. https://www.kayakbassfishing.com/2019-kbf-trail-series/ This will show you everything that's going on as of now. https://www.kayakbassfishing.com/events/ Here's the Hobie Bass Open Series Schedule. There are the Satellite events that Hobie is having.
  4. There are lots of options. Are you looking for local or national? If national then check out KBF and Hobie Bass Open Series.
  5. When are they suppose to be showing it? It's like an 8 hour show and it's live so it has to be on during the day. If people want to watch it at better times then they can watch the replay. I don't see how it can work your way unless it's completely tape delayed like the MLF tourneys are. When it's done that way we see fishing that was done the year prior. During the summer kids will have plenty of time to watch these tourneys since they'll be on break.
  6. Being a kayak fisherman taught me how to really study a body of water and break it down. There is a lot more strategy that goes into kayak fishing since I can't motor to a new spot quickly. I need to pick the right spot right away. If that is not the right spot then I need to have a plan B and maybe even Plan C. I have to determine whether it's worthwhile taking the time to get off the water and move to another spot. When on the water it's all about working an area thoroughly. I learn to have more patience. I usually throw more lures out of a kayak because I'll work an area longer.
  7. Are you saying you just want it to be two days instead of 6? You can't really compare bass fishing to any other sport except maybe golf, when it comes to TV coverage. Tourneys need to be a couple days long in order to prove who is the best and not just lucky. They need to be held during the day because of safety and because it doesn't make for good TV. I'm not sure how else they should do it better.
  8. Like everything else in life, practice makes perfect. You'll hear every pro say that spending time on the water is the best thing for you. I recommend reading as much as you can too. Not just reading about how to fish and what techniques to use but read about the biology of bass. Learn as much as you can, become that person others come to for advice.
  9. It was boring and it seemed both times I tried watching they were just going off air. I'll try again tomorrow.
  10. Day dream and dreams at night. All the time.
  11. Get yourself one of these. https://www.engelcoolers.com/englbc13-n-13qt-live-bait-dry-box-cooler.html
  12. Use dark colors in stained water and light colors in clear water. Pretty good rule to go by with most lures on most bodies of water.
  13. Black/Blue is my favorite and what I've caught my best on. You really only need two or three colors: something dark like black/blue, something natural like a bluegill color and something light like white.
  14. My PB largemouth and smallmouth have come from the chatterbait. It catches quality and quantity.
  15. As long as humans have an opportunity to cheat there will always be some that do it. It will never change. The only way I can see it working on a local level is to require everyone to take a polygraph test after the tourney. Not sure how feasible that is but it's got to be easier than having judges on every boat. Catch, photo release works a little better but people still find ways of cheating as well.
  16. I think you're going to see more and more catch and release tourneys. I've never been a huge fan of using livewells for tourneys but I will do it because I have to in certain tourneys. I only fish one or two boat tourneys a year though. Majority of my tournament fishing is from a kayak and they are all catch, photo and release. I love this format, and until they can find a way for all kayak anglers to use the same scales that can't be tampered with, it will remain my favorite format.
  17. I don't see why they need to be compared at all. They are completely different events and that's what it's designed to be. Events like the Bassmaster's Classic is meant to be a big live event. The BPT are meant to be large media events. They each cater to different people. All it comes down to is watching what you find most enjoyable. There is no reason to try an compare them, unless you're one of those fanboy people like with truck brands.
  18. The anglers are not required to go to the post game line so it's not really a big deal other than everyone knows he was upset.
  19. I think those are all fair opinions. I don't really share them with you but that's fine. I prefer this format and some people prefer the 5 largest fish format, luckily there are both available to watch. I had issue with it freezing up a lot and it looks like almost everyone did. That sucked but it was a simple fix of refreshing the page. Overall I thought it went really well for their first ever event. I liked that they really seemed to be listening to the fans and making adjustments. I noticed they tried harder not to talk over anglers when they could help it.
  20. Download the eBay app on your phone. You'll get notifications when there are coupons.
  21. I skipped the High Percentage Fishing book and went right to the Lunker Lore book. I really enjoyed it. I’m currently reading Knowing Bass.
  22. Most entertaining way to watch fishing I’ve ever seen. Loved it.
  23. I renewed my membership for BASS and got four pretty good lures with it. About $27 worth which makes it totally worth it with the magazine.
  24. There’s a guy making custom chatterbait and selling them on a Facebook market group. They look awesome, similar to Jack Hammers. He starts the bidding cheap and shipping is $3.75. Sounds normal until bids jump from $6 to $15 insatantly. The 1/2oz ones usually end up going for over $20 plus shipping and that’s just for one! I see the same people bid every single time and the winners are usually the same people. I’m suspicious. Whats crazy is is that I messaged the maker and he’ll sell them directly for $15 so I don’t know why these goofballs are spending over $20.
  25. I don’t think there is an argument good enough to say any other tourney format is as good as what we just saw. Six days of great coverage and awesome endings.
