  1. my son fished with me alot between the ages of 7-16, but once he got his drivers license, not so much. he just turned 31, he still loves to fish, and we get out on the water every now and then. i have some decent polaroids and great memories.....but i’m now working on my grandson ? make the time if you cant take the time, that goes for the girls too.
  2. lets go birds ?

i get the BPS gift cards too and i save them for the March Madness (or the on-line Spring Fling) event where things like Zoom plastics are usually 20-25 % off, just a little bit cheaper than another site. i buy in bulk, on-line. if they pull the plug on this, i’m done. i used to buy my Gamakatsu hooks, in bulk, from them but they have now replaced them with “other” brands at the reduced price. no thanks. i kinda like the rod/reel trade in deals and like to play with the display fish finders when i actually go to the store.
  7. we all got together for BBQ at Craig’s this past Thursday, then we lost him yesterday afternoon. love you man.

  9. on a side note...when i saw this yesterday i you tubed some original mr bill clips, then that led to old SNL clips. we were so young then. thanks road warrior. carry on
  10. i love me some red bullets and lead heads.
  11. for years i used the old window weights. each one weighs around 7-9 lbs. three of them, duct taped together, worked for me, and stowed easily in the Sea Nymph. but now i use a mushroom, with my rope (attached to and) wrapped around a two foot stick of 1 1/2” pvc pipe, all stowed in a five gallon bucket. be sure to glue caps on your pipe so it will float, just in case. the bucket allows for easy transport and keeps mud out of your boat. git r done.

  16. i recall a cloudy, blustery day on Lake Norman in early April of 94 when i caught over 20 LM, 2 stripers, and a 10 lb blue cat on a Nichols Pulsator....until the big cat wadded it up like a paper clip. ?

  18. great advice from everyone. i throw a 3/16 oz texas rigged worm/lizard on a bc reel w/12 lb fluoro, with a 7’ mh rod, far more than any other presentaion. it can be done! you’re gonna have to practice that smooth cast like the guys are telling you even if it costs you some distance. once you find that sweet spot with your reel settings and casting motion, you’ll be dropping those worms in a five gallon bucket from way out there.
  19. sorry for your loss Chris
  20. hang in there boss
