just picked up this 14’ jon boat today to replace the other one i keep at a small lake near me. i will sell that one after i remove the Garmin sonar units, auto bilge and other accessories that i will put on this boat. this jon boat is wider, deeper, has a Johnson 15 hp electric start tiller, nice Motor Guide X3 and a live well/cooler that i may or may not use. git r done.

i do this for a jon boat that i keep on a small lake. the dock there has no power. i use a small pair of hand trucks to wheel it around and an old Shumacher charger here at the house. man gotta fish ?

i tend to be a “pattern minded” guy, while my cousin is a “fly down the lake, pull over and start throwing” guy. we drive each other crazy. thing is, they both work. i give up.

i agree. the markings around the eye area and overall coloration pattern really stand out to me.

here is another token spot pic amongst the fat largemouth ones. she almost made 18”. caught 16 today on Lake Norman and once again the wind was kicking some serious butt. lots more bass boats out there too. that had most of them trying to hide from it and some creeks got crowded. i gotta admit, it blew me off some of my favorite spots too. secondary points, in some fishable wind, was the ticket though and lots of guys were just riding by them ?

March has been unseasonably chilly here in Western NC but a slow warming trend has swt in the low 50’s. the spots have been ganging up on points, not so much for the docks or shallows yet.

fwiw, here is what i would do. fish the points at the mouth of those coves you mentioned. keep the boat in about 20-25 fow, throw towards the shore and slowly drag a t rigged plastic back to the boat. not every point is gonna hold fish but many do. fish them thoroughly. try other points further back in the cove too. if you get bit once, there may be more fish in the vicinity. this is a very effective pattern this time of year and quite easy for anyone. good luck.
