I didn't know Mr Ashby had passed away. I bought rods from him prior to the Superstore. He used to run 'Pogo's Place' circa 2002. Definitely sad.. his family/staff should have been a well-oiled machine at this point 🤷‍♀️.

There was a review on TW that stated they received a Black Widow with an IM blank and IIRC they got in touch with NFC and were taken care of. Then there was a review right under that one where a guy chimed in and said he also had a BW w/ IM blank, but argued saying that was how they came and he didn't think they made a HM blank (lol).

I can't believe they actually have the finesse cut tabs in stock. They are nearly always OOS of 90% of colors offered. Glad you posted the link; I need some.

I have several First Strike series rods and a couple Black Widows from 2015. Back then, Tackle Warehouse carried two Edge models, the First Strike @ $400 and the Black Widow @ $500. Only carbon gripped rods TW carried at that time, and I wanted one bad. Later that year, TFO was closing out their Edge rods for 50% off, so I bought 5 FS's and 2 BW's. Even Sierra Trading got some clearance Edge rods, and I added the 806 crankbait rod. Still love them. Wish they still made the rod covers- they are the nicest I've owned.

I'd use mono/copoly. You will be throwing cranks in abrasive areas, and you need an abrasion resistant line.

I'd use your pair of ugly Sticks- the spinning for jerkbaits and the casting for cranks (up to 1/2oz). I bet your Tourney special rods could handle heavier moving baits over 1/2oz.

I got an email a few days ago just to tell me they have grass pieces. $19.99 for a bait that should cost $6.99.

I had mine in a standard plano 3700, and it warped. Switched to a flambeau like @Jig Man, and haven't had warping issues. Sure wish flambeau made thin 3700/3600's.

My last order from JLS was in July, and I didn't have to pay a tariff. I need some stuff from overseas, so I guess I'll experience it.

Received my 2 Veritas TE's from Sierra Trading, along with a few things from TW. The 7'2" M/F VTE casting rod is a gem. Feels like a 7'2" version of the old Avid M/XF. Weighed 4.4oz on my scale, and has 843 Loomis power. 7'6"M spinning rod is also nice and will fling a slider or paddle tail a looong way. Pickedd up 20 bags of Rage punch bugs @ $3 a bag. These are like a 3.5" Vibra King tube w/ rage claws. Man do they work 💣. Few spinners, including my first Santone spinners. Both have tied skirts and good blades.

You think that thing will throw a heavy moving bait? I'm looking for an excuse to buy one.

They do, but it's no Tackle Warehouse tube. They used to ship rods in a long skinny cardboard box, and I had 2 different rods show up broken. The past couple years they changed to a cardboard tube, although somewhat thin. I bet it shows up ok though. I'm a Sierra Trading junky- like 90% of my clothes and all my sunglasses came from there. They have all the expensive brands for a bargain.
