  1. Most likely a Rapala Shadow Rap Shad.
  2. That chrome trap looks to have caught fish 👍
  3. Picasso's are quality baits. I know that KVD preferred Nichols. I never became a Terminator man, but they definitely have a following. The wire seemed a little stiff to me 💁
  4. Cumbersome but effective.
  5. I don't think they are selling well, even with good reviews. Too many choices.
  6. Saw these cheap pflueger combos while scrolling fb. https://pfluegerfishing.com/collections/sale?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=Pflueger+%7C+ASC+%7C+Promo+%7C+Conversion+Value+%7C+1c&utm_term=ASC+%7C+Feeds+%26+Stories&utm_content=Static+%7C+%2479.99+Select+President+Combos+V2+%7C+5%2F5-5%2F31&fbclid=IwY2xjawSEktxleHRuA2FlbQEwAGFkaWQBqzIB4i3SanNydGMGYXBwX2lkDzQwOTk2MjYyMzA4NTYwOQABHmYzD2SipKc1_-fOedAZO0ta3DYTUnrgd6M_J7hPpeQLyXmr343AKUF_GdLP_aem_QsUK3z9w2hvFx8X2gBbWaQ&campaign_id=120231007322440010&ad_id=120244798544730010&audience=new_audience&utm_id=120231007322450010_v2_s11_e7630

The Bsssmaster Classic article that asks the pros what they will make their first cast with had a couple guys showing the coike on the end of their line. In prespawn no less. I thought this must be something I need to investigate 💁
  8. Location is #1. However, using magnum soft plastics and other large baits will increase average size and maybe fool a giant.
  9. Just for contrast, KVD always used a 5.X gear reel for his cranking. However, it isn't necessarily to move the bait slower. If you watch him...he's really working that handle most of the time. I'm the same way- I don't want to turn the handle slowly.
  10. Watched 'The Bass Pros" tv show a couple years ago, and Timmy Horton agrees with you. He said he wanted an 8.1 for nearly everything.
  11. For 'normal', non magnum lipped crankbaits, I use a 5.1/5.6 in prespawn, and then move to a 6.8/7.1 when the water warms up. Burning with an even higher speed reel is something I do occasionally in the summer.
  12. Hope you grabbed that NRX! It does 1/2oz well and will be fine with 5/8th.
  13. 9. I have 7 Concept A/A2 5.6's, and these two SLP Tatula Crazy Crankers w/ ZPI PG spools. (5.5 gear)
  14. Pretty cool, but I can only handle a small dose of Zona.
  15. I buy from them. They had to raise their prices recently, but still good deals. Wish they would get more weedless ball head jigs in...they've been OOS for a year it seens.seems.
  16. Check out the Tatula 80/100. Something funny- I googled the word 'Tatula' to get the meaning/origin to maybe shed some light on why they named it that. Here is what Google said: "Tatula" is primarily a slang Spanish term used in Paraguay, according to Tureng, which refers to a woman with a large vulva.
  17. After playing with a new tat 100 at the classic expo last year, I knew I wanted to turn a couple into finesse reels. Aliexpress had 3 different spools for the tat ct/100 platform, and I wanted to try them all. So picked up 2 each AMO, KKR, and Rays Studio. KKR is shallowest, with Rays (middle) and AMO (right) being a nice depth like a ZPI PG. They range from 6.2-6.7g Finally got the Tats so I can start testing.
  18. I don't own any of those. I'd take each for a spin and see the taper in action. Not everyone likes the same thing in their cranking stick, but you have several capable options. Have fun 😎
  19. BTW...803 is kinda stiff for jerkbaits in the glx/nrx line. Folks generally use the 852 up to 3/8oz, and then the mbr783/843 for weights over that.
  20. I'd have already bought one if I saw them for half price 😁
  21. When considering a reel that will be under constant heavy load, it is reassuring. It was definitely a factor in me picking up a pile of low gear Concept A2's (Brass gears + aluminum sideplate).
  22. Yeah, I ordered 2 Airy red Pixies from Japan Tackle back in '04 because Brooklyn Bill didn't get any in. And the Airy red wasn't the first model. They were nice, but I never tested the low end of its casting ability.
  23. Nice. KJ flats are at the top of my flatsided cranks 👍
  24. Have you handled a Legend Xtreme? I finally held several at the Classic expo. They aren't light...especially the 7-4. My 873 nrx is great, but it isn't versatile like its fast taper implies. 844 is hard to beat...just does several things well. I'd maybe even save a dollar and get a new GLX during the next TW sale.
