Yea...first one labeled a BFS rod, but I bet the old CR721 would have made a good one.

This will be my first A2...mine are original A's. A2 is essentially an original A with brass gears instead of aluminum, and a hook keeper 👍

I thought of you last night. I have a new '17 Tat that I put an aftermarket cast control cap on. Screwed it in, and then cranked the handle. Grindy....must be too tight. Backed off a bit. Still grinding. I kept backing it off until it was off completely. Still grinding with no CC cap, and I didn't even open the reel. I mean...really? Loosened the sideplate screw like 1mm, and Voila! Perfectly smooth.

I'm not surprised. Model A's have an aggressive wiggle that is different. 4A is a good Bandit 200 alternative.

I think Plano wanted their standard box to be a noticeable step up from store brands/knockoffs. I just wish Plano would keep these old boxes in the lineup- at under $10.

Major makeover, and I'm all for it. $12.99 for the old style 3700 box is too much. New model looks nicer/more durable.
