  1. No complaints on their packaging ordered a st croix off their ebay store last year and it was received with no issues.
  2. Summerland Outdoors is doing 20% for labor day and it works on G. Loomis/Shimano have to dm them for code on social media
  3. Yes its a custom TW color meant to say pumpkin though not purple sorry about that
  4. St. Croix(and Loomis) fan here I have the Legend Elite 6'10" rod and love it sure you would like the Legend Tournament Bass as well. I would go with the Shimano Exsence or a Shimano Twin Power as the reel, I have both and really enjoy using them. NRX/GLX rods are also worth looking at as high end offerings.
  5. I use 4/6 pound P-line cx-premium on my crappie/white bass setups with no issues. Also have a few older Plueger Supremes that came with the spare spools that I have 6/8 pound Sunline Sniper on them for when I want to go straight fluoro.
  6. If buying from Basspro I'd get a St. Croix Victory 7'3" MXF or step up to the legend tournament bass same length and action.
  7. Oxblood light red flake, black grape, and Tacklewarehouse black blue pumpkin
  8. I've had it last 3 years before I felt I needed to change it out. I have several of the Pflueger Supreme and Supreme XT models that came with spare spool. I keep the spare spools with 6/8 pound fluoro for when I want to throw a crank or finesse swimbait on straight fluoro.
  9. Disregard post was in reference to SV not HD lol
  10. Either a St. Croix Victory or find a promo code and get a Legend Tournament Bass so it'll be under your $300 budget. I'd get either the 7'1" MF or 7'3" MXF model.
  11. Main 3 I throw: Green Pumpkin Magic Green Pumpkin Cinnamon Black Purple Flake
  12. Same here I decided to upgrade all my tackle/gear around May of last year so its been lots of rods, reel, and tackle ordered. I'm near the end of my upgrade so soon the wallet will cool off and I plan to set a $100 a month budget after that.
  13. FG if I tie leader at home but on the water I just use Uni knots to retie leaders. I mostly use a Davy knot to tie my baits on. I use it for trout fishing and found it to be strong so use it for bass fishing as well but will use improved Clinch also. Lastly I do Rapala knots for baits I want to have more freedom.
  14. February 28th 2014 around 5pm was my last cast before packing up for the day blue craw game hawg
  15. Steez would be my vote between the 2. Have owned both now only have the Steez feel I can cast further with it. Have you looked at the 2021 Zillion? I think it compares more to the Met and is cheaper I have a couple of those and really like them.
  16. Steez gets my vote. I had a metaniun DC and sold it after a few trips I just didn't mesh with it couldn't cast it far imo. I sold it and got a Steez SV TW that I like more.
  17. Conquest 842 is the one SJR model I have currently
  18. I have a few Conquest 843C that I use stricky for 5/16 and 3/8 finesse jigs NRX 872S Shaky Heads St. Croix Legend Elite MLXF Drop Shot and Ned Rigs
  19. That's it for most part I think all SJR are fast actions and more versatile and JWR are extra fast actions and better for bottom contact. I have one SJR model and use it for everything Neds, small swimbaits, Neko, wacky, light Texas rigs, small cranks, jerkbaits etc. While my JWR rods are used strictly for wacky, Texas, and shaky heads.
  20. More about weight and hook thickness than technique with me. I'll fish a light 1/8 or 3/16 Texas rig on a spinning rod every outing but if I go to a thicker hook or something heavier I go to a casting rod. Heavy stuff like 3/8 and above jigs, chatterbaits, magnum lizard in spring etc I throw on casting.
  21. It works for rods and reels excluding Shimano, Loomis, and Megabass like many retailers. It works on Daiwa and St. Croix for sure though I have bought several from them with discount.
  22. I agree I just bought this paddle and took it out for first time Wednesday it allowed me to get the same Jackhammer back twice from snags
  23. 1/8 and 3/16 are my favorites when I fish from the bank. Used to use 1/4 alot with less sensitive rods since I felt it helped me stay in contact more being heavier.
  24. I saw some posts on IG of a leaked new Avid spinning rod I believe yesterday. No idea when it will be released though.
  25. I say pick up a 843C it's a pretty sweet rod in the lineup I have 2 of them myself and use them for all kind of things Texas rigs, jigs, chatterbaits, and spinnerbaits.
