The STX casts farther but it is a little bigger and heavier and it is not as good of a beginner reel. The magnetic brakes are less newbie friendly than the centrifugal brakes in my opinion. You can get the old models of the Revo STX or Premier for around the same price as the Citica E from tackle warehouse. PM me if you want more details.

I live up the street in Falls Church close to where Lee Hwy and Rt. 7 intersect. I know the construction that you are talking about. It seems the state has decided to perform construction on all beltway overpasses at once. It's easy to get angry at them for taking so long but remember how restricted they must be. If they could work for a solid few weeks on a road that was completely closed then I would imagine they would get a lot more work done. As it is, they have to contend with traffic so I'm sure they are going slower than they really could.

It's evident that you really DON'T know as much about tackle as you think you do. And nobody here "worships stuff blindly." We find stuff we like, sometimes at the recommendations of others. I think a lot of us are getting really tired of you posting on threads like you are some sort of higher authority (while at the same time making it apparent that you don't know as much as you think ie: Mojo rods are just like a Steez :). I think a Citica E would be a good choice then. It has a lot of room to access the spool which will help when you get those birdnests and I personally think the centrifugal brakes are pretty forgiving for beginners.

you're thimking of regular fused fireline.we are talking about fireline braid.it's new this year. I went and looked at some in the store and it was the braid that had the gummy coating on it. Not saying it's a bad thing, just thought it was peculiar.
