Daiwa Zillion Cranker---The Perfect Cranking Reel?
When the tide is low frogs are a great option. When the tide is up they still work but in fewer areas.

These things are ridiculous...
Very nice looking baits but I'm still more impressed by the hardgills.

Hookset when Flippin very short distance
x2 I don't see a whole lot of fun in it. : fishing is fishing, whether its at a big 20 sq mile lake or a 5 acre pond next to a golf course. A lot of the same techniques apply. The waterfall Im talking about is a 10ft high 25ft wide man made waterfall with a ledge at the bottom that has a 1ft space that goes back under the falls. I used to cast a spinner in front if the waterfall and catch decent 1-2# bass but one day I accidently cast into the water and pulled out a 4#'der. If thats not fun I dont know what is! I discovered they like senkos and shad plastics the best. Best part is that its only 1 block from my house so I can fish everyday. (I also fish at the big local lakes but its a lot more trouble than walking 1 block and the fish are not any better at the lake) And that's cool, but I think some guys would get bored of it and rather fish lakes that have more types of places to fish, more room for the bass to move, and more to "figure out."

RODSS????
In your price range, I would look at Kistler's Magnesium series. They are very good rods for the money.

You don't fish any frogs? You can catch fish all day long on the Potomac with frogs.

So you're talking about more intermittent vegetation? yeah, I've fished the grass in the potomac before.

Team Daiwa TD-Pro Spinning Reels
sorry, I'm pretty sure the silver Capricorns were discontinued before I got into fishing. The thing with Bass Pro shop is that they are pretty good about returning products. You could always buy the TD Pro, try it out, and then if you don't like it, bring it back and exchange it for something else.

Daiwa Zillion Cranker---The Perfect Cranking Reel?
Sounds like drag slipping to me as well. And aren't all the Zillions the same except for the size of the gears? If yours malfunctioned, maybe you should get it serviced? 8.8lbs of drag should be more than enough if set correctly, regardless of gear ratio. How does fluorocarbon help a senko to sink down through slop? I mean, I know it sinks but it's not enough to pull a bait down through anything. Again, I really think you would be better of fishing a higher ratio with a texas rigged bait.

RODSS????
Most people fish heavy weights on their carolina rigs so I would go with at least a MH. I've heard a lot of good reviews about Shimano's rods (most of their rods are good for their price ranges but they obviously get better from the low end cheap stuff all the way up to the Crucials and Cumaras). The Crucials are in your price range so you might want to check them out but there are a lot of companies to choose from that make good rods in that range. I would look at Kistler Magnesiums, Powells, and St Croix Avids

RODSS????
Do they make rods under $180?

RODSS????
1. How much are you willing to spend? 2. What baits/techniques will the rod be for?

Any chillie heads, or spicy food lovers???
I like a little Sriracha on my ham sammiches. mrlitetackle, that place that had the spice scale was featured on the Food Channel. The founder was challenged by Bobby Flay for a Pad Thai "Throwdown" and she won. I wish I could find a Laotian restaurant but I really don't know of very many Laotian people in the area. We have tons of Thai, Chinese, and a WHOLE lot of Vietnamese people in my area but apparently not enough Laotians to warrant a restaurant.

They are on sale for $80 right now on the BPS website. I've only handled them in the store and they felt solid and smooth.

Any chillie heads, or spicy food lovers???
I have heard some nasty things about those ghost chiles. I don't think I need anything like that. As for the Thai restaurant...we have a Thai restaurant around here that rates a dishes spiciness by American Hot, Mexican Hot, Thai Hot, or Laotian Hot (in ascending order). I thought that was pretty funny. Apparently Laotian food is pretty hot but I've never seen a Laotian restaurant so I couldn't say for sure. Some of the spiciest stuff I've ever eaten was Indian food and I've also had some very spicy West African food.

Jig & Float for fall
It's called a Float and Fly. It's a pretty popular cold water technique but I've never tried it. http://www.outdoorlife.com/articles/fishing/2007/09/float-fly-bass

Any enthusiasts here??
Actually, most "enthusiasts" have already chosen to forego the warranty. If someone ("enthusiasts") is buying high end gear at a premium price that is mass produced to actually fish with and that can be replaced via a warranty, then IMHO they do care about a warranty. If they are just buying to collect unique gear then they couldn't care less about a warranty. but pantera is saying that the enthusiasts that buy Japanese Domestic Market items have shown that they don't necessarily care about warranties as shown by the fact that they spent hundreds of dollars on products that have no warranties. I think JDM buyers are confident in their own ability to take care of their gear.

Purple Power
you wrap it on top of itself. It is tacky, but does not have adhesive.
