  1. I prefer a silver #4 willow with a gold #2 colo on most of my spinners.
  2. They are awesome little baits for the price. ****** up a few. They have put plenty of fish in the boat for me.
  3. Zoom 8" lizards in either watermelon or junebug GYCB KutTail worms Culprit 10 and 12" worms in red shad Most of the time with 1/8, 3/16, or 1/4 oz weights with a 4/0 ewg gammie
  4. I am looking into buying a couple of new rods and I'm trying to decide between the powell series and some select rods from the IMX and Mossy Back series. If anyone has any experience with both rods please chime in. I've read reviews on each rod individually but I'm looking for some actual comparisons. Thanks.
  5. That looks awesome man. I agree on taking your time for a better looking bait. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  6. I'm happy with not scrolling down farther than your number 2. I also like your number 2 cd (3) Bob Dylan
  7. I'd start off small with dues. I think our first year we paid 15$. We've now bumped it up to 50$ which is still reasonable. I know some schools dues are $150. It wouldn't hurt to talk to your local Bass Pro. Offer your assistance during their spring and fall festivals and what not. I would wait on that however until you have a fair amount of members though.
  8. I use that exact rod almost primarily for texas rigs. It fits the bill when I fish some topwater too.
  9. Print up some flyers with your phone number or email listed and put them up around campus. That's what we did. I think we had 5 people show up at the first meeting. One of those was a fraternity member and he got five of his buddies to sign up so we could meet the number needed to become a school affiliated club and then we started registering with College Bass and NCBFC. We slowly started to get more and more members as people found out more about what opportunities there were for collegiate bass anglers. Don't give up so easy man. Talk with your office of Student Life and Campus Recreation. They may be able to help as well.
  10. Hey buddy. This is Braden from the University of Tennessee at Martin. I was one of the founding members of our team and I'd be more than willing to help you out in anyway that I can. Let me know if you need any help with anything.
  11. Trust me-if you bought COD4 you would be hard pressed to limit yourself to just playing when the little ones were asleep. It's addictive. Good call on leaving that out and I think it's great you choose not to introduce that to your children. I've always preferred NCAA 09 over Madden but I think that's personal preference. Not a fan on baseball games.
  12. I like to use fluorocarbon on my deeper crankbait setups. I prefer Bass Pro's fluoro too. It's great stuff at a great price. Whenever I am cranking shallow cover though I do prefer to use mono. Mono's floating characteristics help in letting the bait back out of snags.
  13. Cotton in the Kitchen by James Cotton 8-)
  14. Hey buddy-What school you at? I'm the treasurer and one of the three founding members of the team here at UT Martin. I'll help you in anyway I can.
  15. Got a phone call from pops earlier tonight to tell me I had a new lure waiting on me at home gonna take it with me to the lake Saturday and give it a whirl. Hopefully bring you back some pictures. Thanks again!

Marty, those last four look amazing. Really great colors.
  17. In theory-Those hooks go like that when jigged up. That position is supposed to reduce snags.
  18. It's kind of late to start this technique this year but I want to pick casting and jigging a spoon in deep water haunts. I have a question for those who use this technique. Are you satisfied with a treble hook on the back or do you think the Japanese/Bass Pro freestyle hook method is a better option?
  19. You sure that was only 3? I could've swore you had the new world record when you held it up and it was half as long as you ;D
  20. I don't see it as a terrible call. Sure the kid was excited and had no intentions of rubbing it in or anything but he threw the ball in the air which is a clear violation of the celebration rule. I agree with you 5BL. I think the refs were just doing their job and I think BYU just wanted it more
  21. I like a lot...really liking those citrus with the foil backs. You keep showing these citrus shad patterns and I'm gonna be shooting you an email sooner than I thought

I opted on not getting one myself. I had a football state championship ring that just collected dust already so I knew I wouldn't wear a class ring. I haven't seen a class ring since the day they came in at our school haha...between 3-4 years ago
  23. Skipping w/ a baitcaster is something that will really set you apart from other fishermen. I think it's something you should invest a little time in. I've been working on it the past month and by far am no expert but I have gotten to the point where I can skip by bait with little to no overrun. I'm just waiting for my accuracy to arrive now If you have patience it's not that bad to learn. I started off practicing in open water. I put some 20lb test mono on my line so that it would be easy to pick apart the overruns. The only two lures I'm using for skipping right now are spro frogs and senkos. I think these lures are possibly the easiest to start with. Give this some practice and you'll be winching out hogs from the back of docks, under trees, etc where the competition's spinning rods aren't as well suited 8-)
  24. Jeremiah Johnson Super Troopers Out Cold The Departed A recent watch that was very funny The Pineapple Express. I recommend A River Runs Through It is good but i read the book first and the movie is just not as good...
