  1. The bass pro by my house has unpainted normans.
  2. I was thinking the same thing the other day! I liked his show because it seemed like he was always fishing the same waters you and I would fish. No private ponds or gimmiks on his show.
  3. These look great Jay. Thanks for the sneak peak.
  4. WOW That's a huge pointer dude. You must have some beasts swiming in your waters ;D ;D
  5. I've done pretty good in muddy water with a clown colored Husky Jerk. But in stained or clear water I go with the Tenn shad. I have found that it is most effective in clear water though.
  6. I loaned a baitcasting reel to someone and they chewed me out saying that I ruined their trip because I loaned them a piece of junk reel. He said was having the same issue you are describing. Turns out that he just never tightend the drag.
  7. I don't like the big switch on the Castaic but I have never fished one so I can't really say. What I can say is that I do like the flipping switch feature on a standard baitcaster. It doesn't make that big of a difference for me when I am flipping but it is nice while I am working a bait. If I am working a bait over a branch but then need it to fall back down 5+ feet, I like to just press the thumbar to let the line out. If I get a hit on the fall (which is nomally the case) all I have to do is lift my thumb and pull. I don't have to worry about engaging the reel. But I guess if the structure I was pitching in was only a foot or so deep like most of the country, I wouldn't need it.

I don't personally own one but a buddy of mine does. I have used it several times and it is a top notch product. I didn't test it against another scale so I can't say much for its accuracy. What I can say is that it is very smooth and solid in its operation. If I were in the market for that type of tool, Boga would be the only way to go.
  9. Sorry about that RW. Here you go. http://www.zpluglures.com/
  10. Wow! This may or may not make you feel better but I have noticed over the years that the tournament scales always seem to be off. Some days it will say that we have more than than what our X-tools tells us and some days it is less. Off course everyone's fish are weighed on the same scale so it doesn't matter as far as who had the heaviest bag or big fish. But being that you didn't weigh your fish on that scale I wouldn't beat yourself over letting her go.
  11. I think what he was trying to say is that he would like to visit Japan, not that he had the oportunity to visit Japan.
  12. Great job at illustrating that for us. Thanks
  13. I've tried Ricos, Splash-its, G-splashs, TD poppers, Yo-Zuris, Gobo Poppers, and my most productive are the same as John J.'s. The Pop-R and the Skitter Pop. Just need to replace the hooks.
  14. Good looking bait. I know a custom lure maker and when he was first designing his baits, he fished them with just a clear coat. He did this thinking that if he could get the fish to hit it like that, then he perfected the bait's profile and action. Then adding the paint would only make it better.
  15. Too bad. I have two inshore rods that are wrapped on Shikira blanks. Pretty good blanks.
  16. But that is not to say that Norman isn't bitting off the sucess of Sexy. It's going to suck for the custom painters that were making a mint selling normans in this color on ebay.
  17. Really? The handles are my favorite thing about the TD-S and TD-X rods.
  18. Sorry but the 'ol Sexy was never anything new. These and many others were out before sexy was.
  19. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  20. My favorite is the Real Crawfish Bang but it is a hassle to deal with and you end up getting overspray all over. Therefore, I mainly use Megastrike.
  21. Uhm?? Was the image removed or is my compy just lame?
  22. I was thinking Brian's Jig but then the acronym would be BJ and I don't want to go into my tackle shop and say "how much for a couple BJs?"
  23. Nice. I really like the Crappie pattern.
  24. If you are interested in selling it hit me up. I haven't poured in over a year because I have been too lazy to buy more plastic. But I don't know what it would cost to ship it out to Southern California.
  25. I believe what you are talking about are designed for running infront of a live/strip bait while trolling for kingfish. What sets Brain's bait apart is that it has the lock for the trailer. As far as a name for the bait goes, I say we roll will you screen name and call it Brain's Bait. Then you will have a slick nickname for them. People will be saying, "Dude, I was tototally slaying 'em with a Double B today!"
