Lazybum, there is no longer a deadline. If you want to show up then please do so. There is no longer an entry fee, nor is there an organized get-together, yet. However, so many of you guys are now coming out of the woodwork, so to speak, that we feel that we need to establish a "home base" for everyone. I'll be working on it.

Jamarkwe, having thought about it, I will have to agree with you. I use a remote arm/disarm key fob. All a bad guy needs to do is have a device that transmits the same frequency as the fob and my boat and its contents are toast.

Tom, I installed a burglar alarm on my old Tracker, since sold. It contained a tilt switch that activated the alarm if anyone tried to lower the tongue of the trailer. Although I've reinstalled the alarm system on my new boat, I haven't made the time to reinstall the tilt switch - yet.

Rod, I took the boat out today to a lake just Northwest of Tulsa (Skiatook.) The water temp was 46. We have a front coming through this week-end that will knock the low down to 32 with an 80% rain/snow mix. Go South young man, Go South! I know I am.

Husker, I live in Tulsa. We have had very few days with temperatures above fifty and even fewer above sixty. I haven't been out yet, but I would venture to say that the water temps are still in the low forties. The LMB bite will be slow and deep. The same week-end that you are making your trip I am making a trip of my own - to Louisiana. The lake I will be fishing is about the same latitude as Fork. If I were you I would go to Lake Fork.

I'll be there with my boat for the duration. It will fish three people comfortably, four uncomfortably. Also, I will be sending refunds to all those who signed up by early next week.

OK boys and girls, here's the situation. Despite our promise to the contrary, it's becoming obvious that we will have a major shortage of boat seats available for those without boats. There are those of you who will be bringing your boats, but most of you have already filled the empty seat. If any of you have boats, but hadn't plan on bringing them, now is the time to change your mind. If you have already filled the seat, but can fish three or even four people out of your boat, now is the time to reconsider. If you haven't signed up yet but are planning on making the trip with your boat let me know ASAP. If you are planning on buying a boat and bringing it with you also please let me know. At my last count there will be around thirty attendees, but there are only three boats that claim to have empty seats. Help me out here guys.

Like an idiot I left all of the PFDs in the boat over the winter. They are all now stained with mildew/mold. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the stains?

Gary, you left one of the rules out. Don't never use no triple negatives.

At the ripe old age of sixty-three, being of sound mind (some of you may disagree) and weakening body, I decided to install a fold down-ladder on the stern of my boat. I know that I no longer have the strength to lift myself over the gunwales at the side of the boat and have my doubts about getting into the boat using the big motor. I wear a Mustang auto-inflate PFD at all times when fishing alone or whenever the big motor is running. If I'm behind the wheel the PFD is attached to the kill switch.

If you want an on-board charger that will last for years then Dual Pro or Guest are your best options.

I suggest you take the new motor and place it on your boat to see if the holes match up. Use a piece of stiff wire.

Wayne, have you installed the Alumaducer yet? Everything I have learned about ultrasonic transducers precludes use through metal. I'm very curious to learn how it works.

A potentially good alternative to the Power Pole are the new Minn Kotas with the iPilot option. It is a GPS based system that will hold you in the same position (+- five feet) regardless of wind or current. I recently installed it on my boat, but haven't had the chance to put it through its paces. I can imagine though, that if one is in very shallow water, the constant on/off of the TM, trying to maintain position, would stir up a lot of silt. If you primarily fish very shallow water, the Power Pole or an anchor would probably be the best option.
