  1. Heard this all the time growing up.
  2. spro popping frog in midnight color
  3. Helix 7 DI GPS for the bow and the lake master chip, it was nice having money for a few days
  4. This is what was going through my head when I made the topic. Great response. I just see so many people throwing the same baits including myself I wonder If standing out would change anything. I really try to look at all lures as tools for certain situations and pick the best tool for the job. Everything I have will catch fish but which one best fits the situation.
  5. How big a deal do you believe it is to show the bass different lures/presentations than what's common in your area? Do bass remember being caught on certain lures? Is it more important to be as natural as possible or unique? Just thinking about the most common lures we all throw and how many fish are caught and released all year, not to mention all the bass that don't get caught and see similar lures everyday. I know this is an issue on smaller bodies of water that are highly pressured. So how much importance do you put on standing out or do you only focus on presenting your bait better than anyone else?
  6. Yea I caught the last half when they played it again. It wasn't a rerun, they were on a different Michigan lake from last year. I had to set it to record again maybe because the name changed from selects.
  7. I guess I missed this weeks episode, DVR didn't record for some reason. I just assumed they were taking a week off after the selects. Maybe I can catch a rerun of it
  8. struggling with this myself right now, fish way better alone
  9. Tom what size pro Jo weights do you prefer with this finesse c-rig?
  10. What I can't stand is posting something for sale and listing a price only to have people message you without asking any details they say "what's the least you will take for it?" - drives me nuts! I would rather get some ridiculous offer than have to answer this question.
  11. Probably the best advice there is. Everyone needs to do this
  12. Well where I fish that isn't necessary but things I do carry are mainly to help me not be stranded in the first place. Common hand tools Big flathead for the trim release screw Spare prop Relays/fuses Small roll of wire Butt connectors Test light Spare primer bubble And I have 4 batteries on the boat 1 crank 2 trolling and 1 accessory, the accessory can double as a spare cranking battery if need be. Not exactly what your asking but I would always prefer to be able to get home verses being stranded.
  13. I've seen Ott Defoe do this but didn't realize it was a jerkbait I thought it was a top water plug. Any idea what he's putting up front? Blade bait?
  14. Just go for it man, definitely read old threads because there are some real gems but don't be afraid to post a topic
  15. It was last year, they had an episode on CBS I believe
  16. Tv- bonanza, rawhide Movies- Lonesome dove, tombstone, McLintock, many more that are not coming to mind right now. What I love about westerns is they way they get across a point, feeling or idea without ever talking or very little words. You just know what they mean or what they're thinking.
  17. That sucks to hear. Especially since I just spent money on these. Why are people claiming these are for conservation if they kill fish, that's much worse than a hole in the mouth. Guess for suckers like me
  18. as I said I have not used them yet but these clamps are extremely strong. it takes considerable force to open them. google "procull" they seem to be very similar to what LoganS has never mind seems they are no longer sold
  19. I recently bought a clamp on cull system from quik8baits. They are high quality but I haven't had a chance to use them to say how they work. I'll post a pic shortly not to derail the thread but after purchasing these I heard something about using clamp on cull tags keeps the fish's mouth open and they are dying in the well from this, anyone ever heard or experience this to confirm?
  20. New at icast - channel cat swim baits
  21. @Siebert Outdoors mike could probably answer this
  22. Sounds a lot like the people who drive around here
  23. Sudden death was definitely a good one. Man Randy Howell is religious about retying, not a bad habit but I don't retie after catching a 1 pounder. That's probably from several bad experiances
  24. Seems not as many pop on the forum watching anymore. I can't comment yet on the last episode I've only been able to watch the first period. Sounds like a good one though
  25. my Helix 5 SI GPS basemap didn't have contour lines. it only showed the shoreline, that's why I bought a lakemaster chip. maybe they've updated them on the newer models?
