If I had to choose I'd take the boat. Regardless, fish don't care what I spend on my gear.

Different strokes for different folks. I like hi end gear, it's just my thing. I'd take the Z22 and the hi end gear megastrike.

The 12 ROF comes pre-rigged. The 5 is actually pretty easy to rig as well.

My Ranger Z22 has a recessed foot pedal. I'll never buy another boat without the feature.

The airplane model was nice, no doubt. This however is on a different level as far as scale models go.

Very nice model, but the finish work around the edges is a little sloppy. There's a video of a scale Ferrari some where that makes this look like a paper airplane...I'll find it and post.

One bad experience with one reel and you're swearing off the entire brand? : I'm not the biggest fan of Shimano but what I do have from their line up I like. Like some of the others have said, more for us.

I have one spiral wrapped rod, an Evergreen Balista TMJC 74XXX. Without a doubt one of my favorites. I wish more domestic rod makers would start using this system.
