Bazooka tube. I've used it on many trips to Brazil and Mexico. Here is the down side: Some airlines, like Delta, will charge you $100 fee for an oversized container. I was able to get that fee waived ONCE. If you have connecting flights and need to recheck your luggage due to different airlines, you may be delayed because usually the rod tubes are the LAST items that are unloaded. It happened to me on the way home from Brazil, and we ended up missingour connecting flight home and spend an extra night in Miami. Not cool if you are tired and want to get home. Make sure you LOCK the main latch that allows you to expand the case. I didnt and the knucklehead at the airport tried opening it from there, like a giant cigar case. He then could not close it properly and ended up breaking one of my rod tips. Luckily I was albe to get the rod replaced through G Loomis. Hope this information helps.

I remember boron rods being marketed back in the 80's but could not afford one. I'd be interested in picking one up as well.

Fishtank, The Zillion is an awesome reel in itself. A very close second to the Steez in my opinion.

Every few months when I had my old boat I'd have a carpet cleaner guy come out and clean the carpet - looked just like new when he was done.

Wow, you guys are hardcore. I don't listent o music much when i am fishing, I enjoy the quiet. If I do turn on the radio - I have Sirius and an Ipod installed in the Z22. My music choices are abit more mellow.

Russ, that is great news! Congratulations. Sometimes the hardest part of starting a new carreer is simply taking the plunge. I hear you on the pay being about 1/2 of what you are making now, but in the long run, take a look at what you can do with the new job and where it can take you. If it's further than your current carreer path, the sooner you star the sooner you;ll get there. Not to meontion that you are in the perfect position to be able to do so now. No wife or kids and all. If you were in that position then the change would be much more difficult.

So last week I ordered 2 Steez rods from the PLAT website, and have yet to hear back for a request to pay for the two rods. Does anyone else have a better source for Japanese rods? If they would atleast tell me the status that would be great! I'm looking for a Steez "Wylie" and Steez "Machineguncast Type I" Thanks guys!

I think Morris buying BASS would be a great thing. He knows the market, agrees with the ORIGINAl phiosophy I'm sure and would take BASS to the next level. Of course this means that Triton will be OUT and Morris' boats will be in.
