  1. Nice buffalo! yep that’s a bowfin in your bottom pic, bite ya soon as look at ya
  2. Just eat the rock
  3. If I was stuck in a kayak, I could definitely understand not wanting to bring a bowfin on board. I have brought a pike into a canoe though, seemed slightly easier to deal with than bowfin and they taste a lot better. Granted , eating rocks tastes better than bowfin
  4. I think it’s funny the guy in that article uses livescope to catch crappie and he’s concerned about people using livescope to catch too many crappie
  5. I tried braid on spinning for a year or so , I switched back to mono and straight floro and am much happier
  6. Dead ringer is my ride or die. And im not dead
  7. Thats why I threw in the world “typically,” just for places like that haha
  8. Those may be my favorite fish to catch. The only fish I’ve caught that fights harder is a huge striper. And gar will bite everything they see , what a wonderful characteristic. I typically get a few 42-45” ones during summer . And I know where a 50”+ lives, been chasing it for years
  9. Haven’t seen a lowrance eagle but the eagle fishmark320 was the bees knees back in the day
  10. Cuz more people are fishing and they wore it out all spring long
  11. It would take too long to type them all, I can catch 8-9 species in a 2-3 hour afternoon session pretty regularly. they had a tournament on wheeler lake recently and several competitors said the live sonar wasn’t effective because “there are so many trash fish in the TN river “
  12. I’d take a drought instead my buddy was in the boundary waters last week and it rained 7 inches in 8 hours, said he slept in a puddle . The video he sent me of a flooded river was absolutely crazy
  13. They tried to impose a limit on dogs in a city near here and it did not go well in America, property ownership is typically unlimited
  14. They don’t make em like they used to
  15. Moving around all these boats was sweaty! Nothing too crazy tho, mid 90s air but the water is in the 70s downtown
  16. I cut grass after work for 3.5 hours at 95 degrees, it was a hot one! I’ve acclimated now, ready for more heat. Gotta load up enough kayaks/paddleboards for 50 teenagers tomorrow so might as well enjoy it
  17. It’s definitely a good idea, I’ve driven those too but seat time and a good teacher on board beats any class
  18. TN doesn’t, unless you are born after 1989 I believe. I’ve never taken a course but I’ve boated as much as anyone , been driving one since I was 8 or so
  19. If I owned a wheelbarrow it would have been a tad easier but there is no flat ground anywhere and where I was getting the dirt from is mostly roots so even that may not have worked
  20. @ol'crickety, we used old rotten plywood on the bottom. Second layer was tons of dead leaves. Then I carried these giant buckets of dirt with a shovel as a yoke from the low downhill corner of inside our dog fence that gets buried with erosion. Lemme tell that bucket will kick your butt 3 ways from Sunday. The first time I filled it to the top and not only could I not pick it up, I couldn’t even drag it along the ground 6 inches. Soil was a loamy clay Then once that was done, my wife bought lots of miracle grow organic raised bed garden soil at Home Depot and that’s what is on top when we planted
  21. @Bankc, fishin sounds better
  22. We are getting too many cucumbers 😂, I swear I only planted two vines. I’m taking some to the firemen and work so they can make pickles
  23. Well I think my fat arse was at that weight in 6th grade so don’t feel too bad 😂
