  1. I’ve never thrown a rattle trap when I didn’t catch a fish i mean seriously those things are good
  2. It was probably not even 4 lbs, don’t be so shocked haha. Will find a pic once I slow down
  3. I love a buzzbait for big river smallies. Got a 23” one time right in the rapids. Skinny one tho
  4. Yes !!! Works with finesse worms and sluggo too. I know, you’re too young to remember sluggo
  5. I’ve never been to California
  6. Well if you tried both schools of thought, there’s not much else I could suggest haha. Sometimes they just don’t hook up, lot of plastic to booger up the hook point
  7. @ol'crickety+ junebug worm= a force that should be outlawed in several states
  8. @ol'crickety, I feel like you should paddle the 652 mile length of the TN!
  9. Way to make something out of nothing
  10. Zoom tiny fluke on jig head is wonderful. Zoom super fluke is good for fishing near the top, nose hook or weedless depending on cover. I like 5/0 round bend for the bigger baits, seem to do well with 3/0 ewg in zoom super fluke . caught some big 19-20” spotted bass and meanmouth with the nose hook fluke in open water, angry fish
  11. Nice fish! In such a pickle, if ya couldn’t make it back to the vehicle, float with the river and pull over ideally close to a road. Any cell service where you were fishing?
  12. Sorry to hear about your MIL @casts_by_fly nice LM
  13. I’ve got buddies that do well with football jig in the fall, I haven’t tried it so much.
  14. I would think up there it would be not long after it’s peaked and heading downward. I know a jay has gotten on some good shallow topwater in august but his area cools off way before the rest of America haha you could fish shallow with a small grub and if you feel perch nibbling you should be set up for success
  15. Our big “lakes” are 30,000 acres and usually they are chasing shad on top morning and evening. I rarely get to fish mid day but I bet they are still chasing shad just under the surface once it’s bright. I do better with more minnow style baits on lakes in fall, granted that doesn’t officially kick off until sept 22 or so but it’s already been good with jig head/ minnow
  16. I was a sophomore in high school, a bunch of buddies signed up for the military after watching those towers go down. Lots of them went to Iraq and Afghanistan, and we are forever grateful for their bravery
  17. I went fishing with Kent during the classic and he told me that pickwick flood story. Wild!!!
  18. I have sidescan but have never found anything successful with it. Took some cool screenshots of bridge pillars tho!
  19. Bluegill aka Mr blue mcgillis
  20. Swimming around where I fish with a snorkel and diving mask is one of my favorite things to do! I bet it would be even more fun in the clear water of cali
  21. Yeah that was lackluster , better wake up before 7 pm sat night
  22. And epipens are a rip off , all mine are very expired i went into anaphylactic shock when I was 8 years old and have had some close calls since but never had my throat swell shut. I think I’m slowly growing out of it but no idea for sure, i haven’t been to a doc in ages (need to go) . I think being exposed to anaphylaxis at a young age made me a tad more comfortable with it. Last few times I just mustered up some adrenaline and that helped way more than an hour of ice and Benadryl. I tried both strategies twice this summer with bees and getting blood flowing was way better my niece is 7 and allergic to everything, she can rattle off all the items on a list really quick. But she also doesn’t know much of what’s in everything so it’s a challenge. She had some cake with coconut and a granola bar and instantly reacted, but eventually the reactions all retreat Oh yeah I forgot, I’ve broken out into hives after jumping into cold water, go figure.
