Somebody always has to be a naysayer when a record is caught. Incredible fish, we used to troll those plugs when we were kids. It would nearly break the rod they pulled so hard

There’s a snagging season on each lake, either two weeks or a month. That’s the only way to catch them I know of

They are doing pretty good around here. Used to be no legal harvest at all, now they let you keep 1 or 2 depending on which body of water Also the Alabama river is loaded with them, they jump out of the water all day long

5g is terrible service where I live, cell phones basically quit working when they connect to 5g. I drop calls with customers all the time, never happened until the new “better” network came about my flip phones and iPhone 5 worked way better than my iPhone 11 and 13 ever dreamed of working as with television, the technology is going backward instead of forward

They break but they also catch the heck out of fish. it’s the price you pay fishing balsa, brittle but fish like it. I threw an original floater into a tree the other day and the bill broke off when I ripped it free. Sadness. But now I want another

I forgot to add: I don’t know if it’s just good fish karma or what, but I have taken people fishing in places they’ve never seen before and let them choose the spot. We’ve stumbled into some excellent fishing that way several times it’s usually somewhere I would drive right by and never fish

Just took the boat out a little while ago, did catch lots of panfish and a couple bass. Moon was very cool

I mostly fish with an unruly cast of characters Had a college buddy and a neighbor with me last Thursday today and yesterday I had my wife, brother, mom, and niece in the boat (brother and niece are in town for Easter) tomorrow I’m fishing with one of my musician buddies that’s in town. We are hopefully going to get a striper, his dad is an authority on striper fishing in the Chesapeake

I much prefer the side button. I’ve broken a few of the plastic thumb buttons on the spool, unfortunately they are tied into the whole frame so you can’t just replace the thumb button, have to replace the whole frame

I know you didn’t ask me but………. my buddy did the boundary waters trip on may 20 something once and he said some ice bergs were still floating around here and there

I look out the window. We also call it “poplar radar” in Appalachia, climb up a poplar and look around That happens to me all over the Deep South, FLA, SC, AL. Craziness

Mullet is one fish I tried that was nasty, I think it requires some coconut milk soak or something according to people that have told me they are good

Gar is pretty good, wild texture that turns off some people. drum is fair, not bad but not good
