Yep. I've thrown it some and usually lose the whole rig immediately. To the OPs question, heck no people aren't quitting the ned in my area. I would guess it's the most popular bait thrown. Between chatter bait and ned, z man is laughing all the way to the bank. I just use small worms on jig heads to create a similar presentation for a fraction of the cost. And like many others have said, we were doing it decades before the TRD hit the market

I have trolled cranks and grubs with a paddle and it's very effective. I'm not entering any tournaments since all my boats are cheap beaters, I was just wondering

In my county there have been 9 suicides since Friday. Still only one death from corona but that is bound to rise. People are quite starved for human interaction. Mental health might suffer greatly if they lock up everyone

I don’t either, although maybe too many mouths to feed? My brother lives near the Delaware but down where ocean liners come in and drop of boats full of foreign cars haha

That current shouldn’t stunt them, a good many 8+ lb smallies come from pickwick in crazy current. Also the st Lawrence River is some of the strongest current I’ve ever heard of and it’s probably the best big smallmouth fishery in North America

Glad you made it back in! There's already been 3 people this spring that didn't make it out of the water in my area. And that's after the winter floods claimed some folks as well. Things can happen quick out there, you did well. You might want to look into floatation for the rods and reels if you're taking high dollar combos in a kayak. I've seen more combos lost kayaking than I can count

We did some paddling sunset trips the last two evenings to cope with the Covid

Just keep doing it with spinning gear haha. Skipping with bait caster is tricky, most use a jig with wide trailer. Keep you thumb at the ready and err on the side of caution. Don’t bounce it off the water as early as you would with spinning. Some thread on here I read once, everyone mentioned needing a CV spool to skip a bait caster, whatever the heck that is

They fish it at most clear water smallmouth stops up north. It is used down south as well just not quite as much. In my experience along TN river, it just gets stuck on everything. We have no sand bottom lakes, all rock ledges with logs across everything

I told the guys at the shop if it costs more than $100 to fix to throw it in the river. Sad part is if I threw my harbor freight Chinese motor in the river I could get it out of the water and start it right up
