  1. That was the first thing I thought of too. I’m scared to saying anything else. I wonder if my ancestor was the one who said the Titanic was “unsinkable?”
  2. Cabin fever is a _____! 😂
  3. 35* windchills in the low 20’s, who’s up for kite surfing? Not me! I was giving words of encouragement from the warmth of my truck though. 😂
  4. I saw the radar for your area and saw that snow which isn’t good at all with all the weight that on those trees and lines. It doesn’t help west Michigan got hit fairly hard and it’s not centered around one specific area, it’s clusters all over. Hopefully they can get it taken care of soon and get up your way.
  5. If you wanted to make the drive down here I have one you could borrow.
  6. Well @gim I spoke too soon. We had some nasty storms come through last night with one confirmed tornado so far and at least one more suspected tornado. Confirmed winds of 86 mph at the regional airport in Grand Rapids. This transmission tower was damaged about 45 minutes northwest of me.
  7. Beard length, weight, and spur length?
  8. Nothing but rain here thankfully. I just got home was dropping 6poundbass off at a friends house and I saw a ton out of town lineman moving about town and camping out at a hotel. They’re either making their way up towards you or are hanging out here locally because we’re supposed to get some severe weather in a few hours. I went by the Consumers Energy yard here in town and the parking lot was full and most of the bucket trucks were gone, I presume they’re up in your neck of the woods. Those boys make a nice mint especially on storm duty but they earn every bit of it working 16 hr shifts.
  9. My son starts his 14u season Tuesday.
  10. I had to read that again. At first I read scrapple instead of scrabble. I was about to load up my blazer and head north to drop some food off to you to keep you from eating that nasty stuff. 🤢
  11. Well my wife started the turkey season off with a Jake. She took the Jake from 0 yards away with a Chevy Blazer at 50 mph. The actual season doesn’t start for another three weeks and the Blazer thankfully is fine. The turkey, not so much. 😂
  12. I love all trees except cottonwood. Those trees I’m claiming war on immediately!
  13. Mike Long illegitimate son? 😂
  14. Welcome to Bassresource
  15. And just like that, it’s back to work on the big lake. I even saw a couple fishing boats out trolling.
  16. I know someone who will think they’re over priced. 😂
  17. Holy smokes! Do you still have plenty of snow on the ground? We haven’t had snow or ice for some time now and in fact I’m hearing they are lifting the frost laws next week down here. I say this every year but it still amazes me what a world of difference a 2-3 hour drive north makes.
  18. I gave up on Skoal 25 years ago when it hit $5/can. Consider yourself lucky! That being said, I found way better, Grizzly, then Grizzly got expensive and I moved to Stokers. Stokers was great and cheap!
  19. I’ve never drank coffee, I gave up tobacco close to ten years ago. I will grab lunch a couple times a week and the rest of the week I’ll bring things from home to munch on while at work so I don’t have a whole lot of daily costs. Between my wife and my son who does sports they make up for my lack of spending. 😁
  20. @Darth-Baiter you forgot your entry fee. 😂
  21. One of the towns I’m building right now is Grand Haven. I’ve been making trips out to the pier to check things out. With spring coming and getting the itch to fish I figured I’d do a little research about fishing off the pier and stumbled upon this from a website. I found this section on smallmouth quite funny. Did I stumble upon a hidden gem? I’m leaning towards a tiny bit of a fisherman’s tale. 😂 Grand Haven Smallies usually reach weights of over 10 pounds and live in Lake Michigan’s deeper waters. All the regular methods, such as trolling, casting, and jigging, work well for Smallmouth Bass fishing. If you’re looking for Largemouth, head to shallow, weedy areas or fish along the river’s edges. Grand River anglers can also fly fish for Bass.
  22. I hear ya! It’s nice out but the ice cap just came off so there’s water is a bit too chilly for the fish to cooperate (from my experience) and it’s too early to chase birds. Last weekend was warm so I washed the front of the house, this weekend it’s a bit too chilly to do the north side. I need to go get crabgrass preventative before the soil warms too much. But I’m with you, my drive this weekend isn’t there.
  23. The anglers report their catch and weight, although I don’t believe they are required to. Some that are showing zero may not have caught one yet, may not report their catch, and in some instances may not have cell service.
