  1. Kuying Teton 6'6" light is an amazing rod for under $80 that can do exactly what you're wanting to do.
  2. Just picked up a few Megabass Freestyle baits. I already have some 6/0 beast hooks and was wondering is anyone is using a 6/0 Beast with them. Is the 8/0 a better match?
  3. I have two GLX rods, and I don't find Daiwa reels a bad match for them. I use a USA Zillion G and an Alphas 800 on them, and it's a perfect match.
  4. A lot of people have issues with Shimano micro modular gears getting rough. I have a bunch of Shimano reels Metanium, Curado, Bantam, old Albebaran……sold off a bunch I had lots of problems with, primarily the gears:Curado 70 silver and black 70k, Curado 200 K 7 and 8 speeds (6 speeds seem to hold up) my Shimano reels that I kept are nice. none of my Daiwa reels have rough gears 17 Tatula, Tatula ct type R, Zillions, Alphas. everyone has their own experiences. I wouldn’t say I have hate for Shimano, but definitely some frustration.
  5. A while back kistler used NFC blanks, now they use a mystery blank. When they switched blanks the prices went up two times in a year. Lame
  6. This is a great response! Thx I want a 7" unit to be mounted on my left side rail, I want side imaging, not sure about the battery location (have to think on that) I have a NuCanoe so under the seat in a battery storage possibility, don't need pre-loaded maps, want gps. I have no experience with transducer location. I'll check out the Hook 7.
  7. I have a kayak, and I think it's time I dive into getting a sonar unit. I'm a complete newbie to using them, so I don't have any knowledge about wether them come with all the parts necessary to start using them other than needing a battery. I also fish out of a Porta-Bote boat (folding boat) so it would be great to be able to use it in both boats. thanks! PS: Price of $700 not including the battery
  8. Nah, I regularly use 20,30, and 40 with zero issues. I always use mono as a backing with 1.5 times my longest cast of braid on top. I have caught plenty of 4-6lb bass and a few 15lb cats and drum and still no issues. Same here, but I use mostly 8 and 10lb braid on my spinning reels. No issues with anything. Just have to have the drag set properly.
  9. VMC Neko 1 and 1/0. Never miss fish
  10. There's only one?
  11. Just picked up a 6th Sense Speed Wake. Ready for spring
  12. I recommend contacting G Loomis and ask about the Expeditor Program. You pay a flat rate and you get the closest rod to the line for that flat rate. Probably be a GCX rod these days.
  13. Who was he stealing them from?
  14. Columbia PFG and AFTCO hooded shirts are great. Add gloves, a baseball cap, and sunglasses and everything will be covered.
  15. It’s my favorite frog rod. Much easier to walk a frog with it than a 735. I use 50lb PP, but don’t cast 100’ into the thickest stuff. However I do use it for regular thick stuff, and it’s great. also doubles great for S-Waver 168 and 6.8” Keitechs. I started frogging with Fury 735, but really disliked it, too heavy for me. the DC 705 hooked me up!
  16. This is why I prefer Red Label from Seaguar. It's slightly stiffer than InvizX
  17. Red label for me….6-20lb. Never have an issue of any kind.
  18. Get a G Loomis 802 or 803 JWR. I use to the 852 JWR for all the presentations you listed. Great rod!
  19. I’d say save some money and get the GLX 843 or 844 depending on what weights you want throw
  20. War Eagle finesse SB is great
  21. Had good success with fat Albert grub
  22. Just a tip. Don’t get mad about drag washers
  23. I don’t ever get mad about drag washers or bushings ever. I like to fish for bass more than what drag washer is in my reel as long as it works well. man’s my 150 is solid as a rock in every way.
  24. I don’t know of people doing this. I do know people on BR complain about everything.
