Current setup for the spring
I did the same recently. I got two Steez A (old model) and couldn’t be happier.

Current setup for the spring
Nice to start at the top. That’s a beautiful reel that will make your life easier. Good choice

Why are all fish not smart enough to not bite lures with those giant clear lips ?
What about 4oz of stuff on an A rig? Couple of coat hangers on there.

Daiwa Tatula 200 vs Shimano Curado K200
Tatula 150 or 200 all the way.

New JDM reels - 2024 Model Year.. who's buying?
I got a killer deal on two Daiwa Steez A, older style. That's it I'm done now. They are pretty sick reels. Never tried one before, now I think they are my favorites.

Twitch baits
I think you and I are the only two people on here who use this bait.

Twitch baits
I used to crush bass and pike with a Rapala bait called the Sub Walk that is in this category. I haven't fished it in a few years though.

G. Loomis IMX Pro 884c TWFR
Not that specific one, but I mostly use Loomis IMX-Pro and GLX rods. Every one I use has been great so far.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Get a few Rapala Tiny 4 baits too. They have been the best producing flat for me and my crew. I vacillate between a Loomis JWR and MBR, slower rods don't mesh with my style very well. I tried a St Croix Rip N Chatter which was ok, but felt a little sloppy to me.

G. Loomis IMX Pro 884c TWFR
Go get it! Spring will be here soon.

Rebel history topic
The gold 3.5" Rebel broke back minnow has been one of the best minnow baits I have ever used. Tons of fish on it along with the 3.5" solid Rebel minnow in silver blue back. Fished as a jerk bait, top water, or just reeling it in, these guys catch a lot of fish. Pop-R, and Wee r, Deep Wee R, and my favorite the Rebel Humpback are all winners for me. Going back decades, they still produce.

Question to the Yoda's of jig fishing about braid to floro fishing line for jigs
I only fish jigs on braid to FC leader. i always have a jig tied on. It’s a great way to fish jigs. 30lb braid to 12-20lb FC. I recommend it!

Most Sensitive Jig Rod ~$300?
Yup, sensitivity comes from your hand holding a sensitive rod.

Caught Fish on Found Lures
I have a 3.5” gold original Rapala I found years ago. To date I have multiple 2.5lbers, a 3 and one 4+ lber on it. All I did was change out the rings and hooks.

Most Sensitive Jig Rod ~$300?
This is exactly what a more sensitive rod excels at detecting. But you can keep saying this over and over again. A sensitive rod detects pressure and resistance changes more efficiently than a dead feeling rod.

Light wire weighted EWGs
Falcon used to makes great ones, but I think they discontinued them. I bought a bunch when they were on close out a couple of places. They used Gammy hooks too.

Looking at Loomis NRX+ 844C MBR…
I use both an 843 and 844 mbr but in the GLX line. For your applications you want the 844. The 844 is also a killer swim jig and chatterbait rod.

Stiffer Swim jig paddle trailers

Larger Paddle Tail Swim Bait Rigging ?
Owner Beast hook in the appropriate size. I also like the. Gamakatsu superline belly weighted ewg hooks. or an Owner Flashy Swimmer

Thoughts on Googan rods
I know two people who are casual fishermen who tried them, both had the reel seats break after a few uses. they seem to be made to look better than perform.

A Nice Finesse Wide Gap Hook
Great hooks. Same with the heavier version in all sizes

Make-do Swimbait/Glidebait Rod
Consider a Tatula 150. I have 4 seasons of beating mine up and it’s as smooth and great casting as day one. It’s a good size with pretty good line capacity. I only use 40 or 50lb braid so it has plenty of space for me.
