  1. Hey Tank, I did a quick search for Daemos and found this post of yours. What do you think you were doing wrong at first? And then what change did you have to make? I'm looking for a good spinnerbait/swim jig rod to handle 3/8 and 1/2 ounce plus trailer. Must still like it if it's your "got to"? All of my P5's are pretty much treble hook rods, haven't had any single hook rods yet. Was thinking a P5 or maybe some non-NRX Loomis rod. GLX or something. THANKS
  2. Well Detroit is definitely on my bucket list.
  3. ^^^^^^ BOOOOOM she works. Thanks!
  4. Yeah I just tried it, doesn't seem to work. Another HUGE improvement here would be to add a delete button. So after failing to add a picture, I could simply DELETE this post.
  5. Unless I'm crazy, the process of adding an image has changed. Pretty sure before you could add an image by pasting the image address. Has this changed? I don't see it. Thanks
  6. Thanks! Gives me a good idea. Now just have to convince the wife I'm worth it. LOL
  7. I only use the FG because it's the only one I know. Here's what AI has to say: The FG knot is generally considered stronger and slimmer for braid-to-fluoro connections, ideal for passing through micro-guides, but is harder to learn and tie quickly; the Alberto knot (or Crazy Alberto) is easier, faster, and very strong, but bulkier, making it a great all-around choice, especially for lighter lines where the FG's difficulty with thin line might be an issue, though some find the Alberto less strong on braid.
  8. Thanks. It's definitely pushing over $5k then. That's what I was sorta expecting as there's no easy way to get there (I'm assuming).
  9. Last summer I put together a nice combo for neko's and wacky's. I bought the 23 Vanquish. No complaints, happy with it. The rod is a different story. Not a fan. NRX+ 852S. Terrible at casting. Regrets.
  10. I'm really curious what a trip like this would cost. Total. Ballpark of course as people live in different parts of the country. More or less than $5k a person? I have no clue. If you don't mind me asking, what do you guys typically spend? Total. So travel there, fishing/stay, and travel back. Might have to add something to the bucket list. Thanks!
  11. I have an 8 footer for deep cranks. Doybns Champion. The farther you can cast the deeper they go.
  12. Soooo sounds like nothing to get excited about.
  13. Dear SPRO,
  14. If you don't mind putting in the extra blood, sweat, and tears, the Quetico Park is my favorite place on earth. I need to get back up there and take my boys with me.
  15. Do you not ice up over there? Seems like you do a lot more fishing in KS than what we can in IA. Maybe I'm geographically challenged but I figured your weather would be somewhat similar. Must not be.
  16. IDK man, 4 years of use is some decent use. 50 yards of 30 lb 832 is like $7. Is it worth it? Worth potentially losing a big fish over it? If the line is still in great shape and you fully trust your knots go for it. Me? I'd just toss it. This summer I lost what I believe would have been my PB due to braid that was maybe used too much. Wasn't a knot failure. If I could turn back time I'd love to do it all over again with fresh line. PB > $7.
  17. Where are my reel experts? What's the difference between this and the 2024 Steez SV TW100? I have a couple of the above and have enjoyed them. The 2026 version obviously has the word "Light" in it, but I'm not sure what that exactly means because it looks like they have the same size of spool. Does it just weigh less? Is it meant to throw lighter lures? Does it have more bells and whistles? I'm no expert so I'll gladly take some thoughts from those that know. THANKS!
  18. Not sure how old you are, but I can't fish without my 4x cheaters. I might look like Bubbles when I'm tying a knot, but I can't do it without them.
  19. What the H E double L is THAT thing? You can tell your wife I wouldn't hold it either! LOL Never seen anything like it.
  20. You can do it. I know this because I can. Putting the line in my teeth was what got me over the hump. For me, it's WAY easier. Get some old line and plop yourself down in the living room with a good YouTube video. After an hour or so it's a piece of cake.
  21. Try going lighter. The ned catches all. It will catch six inchers to six pounders.
  22. It's 1/15/26 and there's ice where I live. Haven't even thought about goals as it will be roughly 3 months before my next outing. With very little thinking, some goals: Catch a 5 lb bass. Explore new water. The chances of a 5 lb bass in the small waters I fish are slim. Buy a boat. The funds are there, I just need to do it. Having zero boating experience makes the task somewhat overwhelming. Even after the purchase, where am I going to store the dang thing in the summer/fall. Winter will be in my dad's machine shed so no big deal. Fish with my boys. Having a boat will make this much more easier. They like to fish but fishing out of a kayak is difficult if you don't do it much. They aren't fans of it. Late addition added: Take my dad fishing with my boys. He's not a great father and we don't have a good relationship, but he's the reason I started fishing. He's 83 and slowing down so I know he doesn't have much time left. I need to take him out with the boys and I, he would enjoy it. Memory building for all I guess you could call it.
