  1. I had two boys in travel baseball, two years apart in age so I did the travel thing for about 8 years, many of which were doubled up with both boys on a team, I coached one. I bought a tournament t-shirt at every single tourney that had them for sale. For many years they made up 90% of my t-shirts and I wore them proudly. Sadly, tournament baseball ended 5 years ago and the last of my t-shirts from that era are on their last threads. When the few people that asked if the only shirts I had were tournament baseball shirts, I said, "Yes!"
  2. I don't have a jersey, but every time on on my kayak, which is 4-6 days a week, I'm wearing my blaze orange baseball hat! I've done it for years and it's how people identify me now. If one day I wasn't wearing it someone would probably think someone stole my body.
  3. I use braid for everything also. For swim jigs I use 30 lb 832 or PP. I love ripping swim jigs through the middle of or on the edges of weeds and braid kicks butt in the scenario. I fish out of a kayak so don't have the availability of 20 rods on the deck. Using the braid through open water sure hasn't seemed to have had a negative affect either.
  4. To NOT spend as much money on fishing as I did last winter.
  5. Trailer movement is easy to adjust, I use Ragetail craws for a lot of movement, Rage Bug for not as much. Colors on trailers I keep it simple, Black/blue flake, or Watermelon/Red Flake With jerkbaits I also vary the pauses quite a bit, sometimes within the same retrieve. My biggest catch on a jerkbait came when I had been retrieving and had an extra long pause while I got distracted by something else. Not sure how long the pause was but at least 30 seconds. This came during a retrieve of twitch-twitch pause.....with those pauses being about 3-5 seconds so the bass may have been following it along the entire time for all I know. For jerkbaits I use colors along the lines of a natural shad pattern, a shad pattern with flake, and something with a lot of gold in it. For some reason the ones with gold in them do very well in quarries I fish.
  6. I agree.....I've had bass hit lures that they were almost a perfect match in size.
  7. I love those hooks too. So does any article of clothing or glove I'm wearing. The attraction is incredible. LOL
  8. I use braid down to 20 lb test. The ONLY issue I have, and it's mainly with the 20 lb stuff is line wrap. Not enough to make me switch to something else though.
  9. I just ordered a bunch of different size and type of underspins. I had decent success with them last year and to be completely honest I forgot all about them. That will change next time out.
  10. Depending on technique....... But I'm going to go the opposite here. I'd rather put the money into a quality rod, especially for contact stuff like jigs and plastics. That's as long as I can have a decent reel.
  11. Same as Ksam. All my swim jigs are 3/8 oz.
  12. If the winds are manageable I'll fish the wind blown shoreline. If they are just too much to fish in, or I just plain old get tired to fish it anymore I'll go to the protected shoreline. I fish mainly in a kayak and to be honest I've had great luck sitting just inside the protected side of a point and casting out past the point into the wind.
  13. I use a MH/Fast for lipless. If I'm throwing it in relatively vegetation clear water around rocks and humps I'm not against using my Med/Moderate though.
  14. 95% of the time I use the 3.8's, the Fats....
  15. As a kayak guy, I also can't be carrying around all those bags. I have them in two 3600 Plano boxes. One is worms, one is craws and paddletails. I only use three colors of worms and craws, four colors of paddletails. When I get home I replenish the boxes as needed.
  16. I found the same thing with smim jigs and other jigs as well. I tried a H/Fast after it being suggested to me by several people. I just didn't like the way it cast. I'm back to MH/Fast but now I have a very good frog rod with the H/Fast. LOL
  17. I use a MH/Fast for swim jigs. It was the Levante Braillist, now it's the Orochi XX Braillist.
  18. The few times I've fished the dropshot I used my Flatside.
  19. I bring 6 rods in my kayak All my reels are Lew's, either Tournament Pro G's or this years Tournament Pro's. 1. MH/Fast MegaBass Levante 2019 Brailist that is for plastics, t-rigged, weightless, wacky 2. MH/Fast Avid X 3. MegaBass Orochi XX Brailist for jigs 4. Med/Mod MegaBass Flatside Special for squarebills, mid depth cranks, and lipless 5. H/Fast Avid X for frogging, punching, bigger baits like swimbaits. I will also use it for buzzbaits. 6A. Med/Mod Avid X for the same as my Flatside above....I bring it when I plan on using a lot of cranks 6B. H/Fast Diawa Tatula Elite for when I plan on hitting a lake with tons of weeds 6C MH/Fast Avid X for when I'm going to a new lake and not sure what I'm going to use.
  20. For me Yum Dingers last for several fish so an O ring is optional. Senko's and Strike King Ocho's I get one fish, two at most unless I use an O ring.
  21. Open the package and take a whiff. That should answer your question.
  22. I was looking into purchasing a pedal drive and quickly realized a Sea Ghost and a Bixby was less expensive and lighter. I'm setting up the Sea Ghost right now and the only negative aspect I can find is I'm not a fan of the big space right behind the seat for the hatch. I'd rather have an easier reach into the rear tank well.
  23. I just bought the Sea Ghost 130. I like the layout and plan on getting it on the water Saturday. I also have a Bixby Jet on the way to install on the rudder. The Sea Ghost was $999. I think it's on sale direct from Vibe even cheaper this weekend.
