  1. TBH, if I'm fishing really clear water, I throw natural colors way more than white/bone baits. Except for topwater. That's a different story. But if the water is stained/dirty, white baits work great, even if you don't have shad. How many black topwater baits do you own? Those are must-haves IMO. Especially for stained water and overcast skies.
  2. Place order of $150+ to get this, while supplies last. Has anybody got these blems before? I'm assuming they're just paint/finish blemishes? Also, they don't come with any of the hardware, do they?
  3. I don't have shad either, but white/bone chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, swim jigs, cranks etc still work great. Especially in dingy water. I also use black/blue, green pumpkin, bluegill colors as well, but sometimes the white baits work better. For topwater, bone is probably my best producer. Followed by black.
  4. Bhite Delight and Sprayed Grass are good Jackhammer colors. And you're missing out if you don't buy bone/white colored baits just because they don't look as pretty as other colors. If the fish like it, does it matter?
  5. If you mess around with that SV-3 spinnerbait, the Fishing Gods will curse you and your fishing season. Don't do it! The SV-3 is a smaller profile spinnerbait which excels at times when the bigger blades ain't cutting it.
  6. While the White Python color will definitely work, there's no doubt in my mind Megabass put that color out to catch the angler. Lol. Very cool looking.
  7. That's an awesome gift, for sure! She must really like you! ?
  8. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to my weird internet bassin' family! I'd truly be lost without this place (thanks Glenn!). I don't have many friends who can relate to me when it comes to the extreme passion I have for bass fishing. But you guys...you guys get it! Be safe everyone.
  9. Been wanting to try the 745 or 746, but not sure which one. I haven't held any of the Extremes in my hands before. Won't be for punching but definitely for flipping/pitching some thicker submerged weeds. I have setups for my basic t-rigs (MH/F rods with fluoro). Wanting something with a little more power for the heavier stuff. Some say to get the 745, some say 746. I know these rods weigh a lot compared to other higher end rods. But I also know Dobyns balance really well. Anyways back to the OP. My current punching rods. Punching heavy veggies- 7'11' Shimano Expride XH/F Punching little lighter veggies- 7'6" ALX IKOS XH/MF
  10. Sooo, you have about $200 to burn? In all seriousness, if you like spinnerbaits and you like Megabass, this is a no-brainer. Quickly becoming one of my favorites. I'd say it's a mid-size spinnerbait. LM like it but I do really well with smallies. No trailer needed.
  11. Wow you cleaned house! No wonder I couldn't get everything I wanted! ?
  12. The Archelon's are a top 3 flipping/pitching bait for me. The body is actually hollow, but the head is solid. If you look closely, there's a tiny hole near the antennas. A worm rattle fits perfectly in there, Make sure you slide it all the way up by squeezing the body, working it's way up. Then you can Texas rig it. Rattle never falls out.
  13. Good to hear. I really didn't need any more walking baits, but with that sale I was intrigued. Always like trying new walking baits.
  14. The ENOX line looks really nice. I don't have any of those. This will be my 2nd ZOLO, which is a step down from the ENOX. Also have an IKOS.
  15. You guys ever have it where, you see something that looks nice and you're like "man, I'd love to have that". But then the more practical side of your brain says "yeah, it'd be nice, but you don't need it". But then you think to yourself "yeah, but you only live once, I work hard, I deserve to spoil myself from time to time". But then you think "eh, I just spend x amount of dollars on fishing stuff this past month, I really shouldn't". Then you think "true, this is money I shouldn't be spending right now, but I'll just sell a rod or 2 that I don't use much anymore to cover it". But then the smart part of the brain says "oh BS, you know dang well you ain't selling those rods...this will just add to all the rods that you really don't NEED". So you finally listen to the practical side of your brain and decide that you don't need it. It'll be money well-spent on something else...something you NEED. But them BLAM!!! Out of nowhere the dang Bait Monkey jumps on you, grabs you by the face, pulls you close and screams "JUST GET IT, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO! DO IT, DOOO ITTT!!" Well that just happened to me over the past few days. I saw a custom drop on a few ALX rods. Talked to them to get more info on it. And I finally pulled the trigger today. If it fishes as well as it looks I should be a happy camper. I have a few other ALX rods that I really enjoy, so I'm sure I'll be happy with the purchase.
  16. Well it's the time of year us northerners get to live vicariously through all of you lucky son of a guns! Love seeing all the pics, keep 'em coming!
  17. Awesome. Can't wait to use it. It seems like it'll be quite versatile.
  18. They have 4-5 different perch patterns. I'm guessing that's the GP Pro Perch? Here's mine for reference. In front of and behind light source. Does it look any darker when you take it out of the package?
  19. Dang, that's tough. Keep your head up, bud. Any time you feel like venting etc, we're all here. This is one big family.
  20. I do. Besides fishing them on jig heads/underspins, I use them often on swim jigs. And I fish swim jigs a lot. I already have a bunch of Keitech's, but I'm always looking to try other stuff. I've yet to try Grand Bass swimbaits. With their sale, I may have gone a little overboard. Hopefully I like them. Lol. The Eco Pro Swing Shad is a great alternate to the Keitech, and much cheaper, especially when they're on sale. Surprised they aren't talked about more. And the Booty Shaker is just a great, unique bait. The plastic is super soft, yet quite durable.
  21. I really like that bone color. You don't see that often in soft plastics.
  22. Thank you, to you as well! And we wanna see all pics/purchases here! Whether it's one bait or 100, they're all created equal.
