  1. A guy on Youtube has had a few of these launch models for a few weeks now. He just dropped a video today talking about them. One thing that seems to be consistent is just how light they are. For example, the 7'3" medium Victory spinning weighs 3.53 oz. The NRX 872 (also a 7'3" rod) weighs 3.56 oz. And the 7'0" medium Expride, which is 3" shorter, weighs 3.77 oz.
  2. Sportsman's Outfitters has good deals on Whopper Ploppers. $4-$6 off.
  3. I've never seen a 14 lb bass in person before, and I can still confidently say there's 0% chance that bass is 14 lbs.
  4. If you know for sure you're gonna buy it, the decision seem like a no-brainer.

  6. These are pretty much the only 2 ways I fish it. I did have one day last year where I was pitching it under docks for the heck of it to see how it'd work. I did catch a handful of bass (nothing big) before a pike bit me off.
  7. Ohh yeah, I like the look of those!
  8. Whatever feels comfortable to you. I use 7'2" and 7'3".
  9. Another option for making a jig more 'snagless', especially in weeds, is using a tungsten version. The smaller head makes it slide through cover better. Siebert makes some great ones. https://siebertoutdoors.com/products/ols/products/tungsten-football-jig And here they are rigged up with my favorite trailer (Netbait Paca Chunk). ?
  10. Nice write-up. I also got a new KVD to try out this year, but have yet to get the chance, I didn't hate the knobs, but still decided to change them out to Winn knobs. Here's how they look on it if you're curious.
  11. I guess you could say that your guys' football jigs got....intercepted.
  12. They sink. They're designed to be fished with a straight, non-stop retrieve to keep them up on the surface.
  13. That particular spinnerbait is made by Revenge. It's rather heavy (1 1/4 oz). They do have a 3/8 and 1/2 oz. in a willow/Colorado. I was more using that pic as a reference for a bluegill color w/double gold willows. Siebert's has a nice variety of bluegill colors, but I don't think you can get gold blades. Maybe you can if you contact him.
  14. This is what I use. Very handy and have had zero issues with it so far.
  15. I also like white or white/chartreuse, but if I'm fishing more stain water where the main forage is bluegill, I like this guy.
  16. Few that I like. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_Pro_Model_5XD_Silent_Crankbaits/descpage-SKS5X.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Jenko_CD_Series_Silent_Crankbaits/descpage-JFCDSS.html
  17. They just released a 4oz version of this. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strikezone_Magnum_Pocket_Knocker_Lure_Retriever_4oz_2pk/descpage-SZMPK.html

  19. Love red/orange baits. All year long tho...depending where I'm fishing. But in the spring this color Red Eyed Shad is magic. I can throw other red/orange traps and do ok, but when I put this color on something happens. Is it coincidence? Maybe.
  20. I was gonna give them a shot bed fishing last year but then forgot.
  21. I'll keep that in mind. I have a few bags of Shellcrackers I've been meaning to dip into.
  22. ALX Zolo Deputy is a nice spinnerbait rod.
