  1. Man! Those are the kind of nights you just don't need ... As Ever, skillet
  2. Both parents passed quite a while ago. Father kept on life support too long. Like cart7 said "letting go by disconnect is the hardest decision most can make". If I'm ever in that situation, hopefully someone will make that decision sooner than later. My hopes and thoughts go to you and your friends... As Ever, skillet
  3. Sorry to hear about the knee. Beast of luck with what the MRI shows up... As Ever, skillet BTW being able to vent to someone usually helps

WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  5. Mentioned it more than once :-[so I hope ya'll aren't bored with this. I've got a Dalton Special that I've had forever. It is a walking bait and has a prop on the rear. GREAT bait, it travels farther left and right with each jerk than anything I've tried. Don't think they make them anymore :'(... As Ever, skillet
  6. I have had the 200D since they first came out and like it more now than when I first started using it. Would recommend it to anyone ... As Ever, skillet
  7. Actually I think I remember some of their advertisments in Hot Rod or some mag. of that time. You didn't mind the gas at that time, when it was probably $.25 a gal.... As Ever, skillet
  8. I lurked for quite a while before joining myself. You'll fit in just fine and WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  9. fishfordollars, Back in the late 60's (right after the dinosaurs) there was a company named Yenko that would drop a 427 in anything with a bow tie emblem on it. I remember reading about a '68 Camaro they did. Coming off the line first gear was useless, second was a little better (apologize, don't remember the e.t.) and you could take off in third and turn a better e.t. than second . You're right about gears and tires As Ever, skillet
  10. Good Luck Hope you do well!!! As Ever, skillet
  11. Thanks one heck of a lot cart7!!!! The proverbial light bulb just went on over my head ;D. I finally understand the cadence you need to keep it going to one side. Just need the practice . Fishing from the bank as much as I do, I have a problem getting the rod low enough. I'm 6'4" tall and still have a problem with even 6' rods. I've got a 5'6" rod that works great for walking baits from the bank. I've got a Dalton Special that I've had forever and IMHO it is the best walking baits hands down (never used a sammy :-[). Had to quit using it for fear of loosing it (don't think they make them anymore, unless one of can tell me different)... As Ever, skillet
  12. Cart7, I've heard Jimmy Houston is really good at going around or under something. Are you one of those folks. For some reason I never had the problem of walking a bait in a straight line, like falling off a log . Could you give some pointers on going left or right ??? As Ever,
  13. Was wondering just the other day why you haven't been posting? If you really enjoyed it in the first place, just getting out again a few times should do the trick. Turn the games off, get off your butt and do it . You know you want to or you wouldn't have posted this ... As Ever, skillet BTW you know there's nothing quite like it !!!
  14. Man , that's a nice fish Stan! Large fish will bite small baits, but for the most part I'll agree with you on that ... As Ever, skillet
  15. When you "snap" your rod, make sure there is slack in your line before you "snap" it again. It is one of those things that takes a little practice. When you get it down pat (it's like rideing a bike) you can't forget it. You can get a cadence going, reeling and jerking and not even be thinking about it. Good Luck with it !!! As Ever, skillet
  16. Lurked for quite a while myself before joining. Lots better to contribute what little I know :-[. WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  17. Depending on where you are located this time of the year can be pretty good or pretty bad :-[. Here in SW TN it was pretty good up until this last cold front came thru (haven't been since). If the water is still warm enough the fish will be feeding really good, maybe a little deeper and you might have to slow down your presentation. Depending on where you are and water temp. Fall can be "almost" good as Spring. Apologize for nothing specific. Also, WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  18. Haven't tried swim baits yet. Gonna give them a try soon. Thanks for the tip on those... As Ever, skillet
  19. Still using reg. Stren Mono. Not much help huh :-[. I'll just say WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  20. Didn't know they had new colors out :-[. Always liked motoroil when it was popular some time ago... As Ever, skillet
  21. They've opened a Dick's pretty close and I called them today. They are carrying Cavitron . I'll be going tomorrow to pick up one of the black buzz baits 8-)... As Ever, skillet BTW Had a cold front blow thru last night with lots of rain and colder temps which will probably kill the buzz bait bite until next Spring :'(
  22. Good feeling, picking out your own equip! Catch a Lunker , write and tell us about it... As Ever, skillet
