  1. 3/8 oz is probably the best all-around weight. With your trailer, the combined weight will be at least 1/2 oz which is great for casting. If you fish deeper or in current, you'll want a few 1/2 oz, too. 8-)
  2. How are you rigging the Space Monkey? 8-)
  3. Here are some thoughts: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1182371999 8-)
  4. Dude! Bring along a couple of extra boxes of wine, we can't run out! ;D ;D Muddy, Lighten up a bit. We are all concerned, but the disease appears to be much less dangerous than has been hyped. I minimize no death, but this does not appear to be a "catastrophic" event. On a more positive note, perhaps this event prepares us to better for another emergency. I don't want that either, but this flu has yet to be proven "generally" life threatening. I think there is a general distrust of international organizations. There seems to be more interest in spending our money than solving the worlds problems.
  5. Hooksets are about speed, not power. When you detect a bite, lower your rod while reeling down quickly. Snap your wrists to raise the rod tip without moving the position of your hands relative to your body. This will drive the hook deep. After hook-up, maintain tension and bring the fish to you. If it's not pulling drag, the fish should be coming your way. With the equipment you are using, you should never let the fish stage. 8-)
  6. Welcome aboard! Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the top of the page. We have put together an extensive selection of materials and links to more! Good luck! 8-)
  7. Hmm... I have never had any problems with Gamakatsu, but I recently picked up some super heavy duty Owners. I don't think they can be bent! However, my best suggestion is still the Daiichi XPoint: http://ttiblakemore.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=6 I think GMAN knows where to buy them in bulk if you care. 8-)
  8. 16,929 murders % 365 days = 46.39 murders per day on average I don't know when the first flu victim died, but if it was two weeks ago, 14 X 46.39 = 649.46 murders on average over the same time period. If murders in Mexico during this period were included, I suspect the average would at least double.
  9. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  10. I see no reason to use a trailer hook. Buy a Cavitron 3/8 oz black on black and you will be pleasantly surprised how the "right" brand changes your perspective. http://www.cavitronlures.com/ 8-)
  11. After a quick search, I can't find a number for "2008 homicides", but I suspect that number is significant, too. 16,929 in 2007: http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm
  12. We have a thread running on the AVC66MF which is significantly different than the AVC68MXF. The MXF is really a soft plastic/ jig rod, but can be used for any technique. 8-)
  13. You will continue to get mixed reviews. Most guys love them, others don't. http://www.tackledirect.com/e21-fishing-rods.html
  14. VERY nice fish. Great pic, too! 8-)

  16. Send PMs to CJ, Bud, Greg & Deb. 8-)
  17. I fish the Mattlures Baby Bass on a St. Croix EC70MHF/ Calais/ #15 Hybrid. No issues. 8-)
  18. I attended a "Soft Plastics" seminar at the Spring Boat Show in 1997. The Pro I can't remember, but the silly looking "BIC pen" is something I'll never forget. This single event rekindled my interest in bass fishing, and the rest is history! 8-)
  19. It's going to remain a mystery... Good night Irene -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  20. The ES70MF is my soft plastics rod, you'll like it, too! 8-)
  21. Or add on. Most of my reels have way too much line capacity. I always like to start with a full spool. So, replacing 80 yards or so is the ticket for me, the rest is just backing whether it's fresh or not. It is highly unlikely I will ever get to the backing on an outing, I would switch rigs long before that happens. 8-)
  22. The AVC66MF is my dedicated jerkbait and topwater rod, but I consider it an "all-around" rod for all medium weight treble hook lures. I also recommend this Avid for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and small swimbaits. 8-)
  23. The greatest impact is for those already at risk. The sanitary conditions in Third World countries is appalling. Widespread, fast moving diseases are impossible to address by those who have nothing to begin with. 8-)
  24. I have fished both, I own the Sustain... The Stradic 2500FI is a better buy. 8-)
  25. Nice fish, great pic! 8-)
