  1. When the bite is tough, pork is sometimes a more effective presentation. I just consider Uncle Josh pork another alternative., but it is a little harder to work with than plastic. 8-)
  2. Hmm... Fish Chris knows a little bit about both big fish and photography. 8-)
  3. I have the Dolbyns 803 saddled with a CH50MG. I think a Reel Mechanic Custom is in my future. :
  4. Geez...Nothin' to talk about. 8-)
  5. A pound is a unit of weight. 7 lbs in Texas, Kalifornia and Florida weighs about the same as it does in Rhode Island.
  6. I haven't been keeping up. As I recall there was an issue with guides and reel seats. Is that resolved? 8-)
  7. I suspect the smallmouth are concentrated, find one and you're on them. Ledges should hold both brown and green fish in the summer. The fish last week were generally scattered, but much of that had to do with the 10 degree drop in temperature from the previous week. As the vegetation continues to emerge, I suspect the shallow bite will improve, but structure is the dominating feature of Kentucky Lake. CJ might have a comment or two on this, he's usually the guy drifting out in the middle of the lake! 8-)
  8. Done. Good luck with your survey. p.s. Thad custom painted a couple of Norman Fat Boys for me. If any of you guys are looking for some custom work, get in touch with the man! 8-)
  9. Hooks should be replaced, not sharpened. 8-)
  10. I too agree on these two scents, they are the only two that get in my boat. I need to ask you something RW! I know that this will happen to me this year= I will open a bottle of JJ's to dip my bait and I will somehow spill it on my carpet :'(! So WHEN I do this is there anything that will remove the stain? :-/ And the smell? :-? This was brought up on the Roadtrip, but I don't recall the answer. However, my advice is avoid the potential problem and apply JJ's Magic at home, then carry baits in well sealed bags. 8-)
  11. John Madden was always a gentleman with an unassuming presence. His unique niche in the world of sports will never be duplicated. With great respect: SALUTE! 8-)
  12. AVS68MXF This is a better choice for jigs, plastics, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. It will do for treble hook lures. I have the casting version of the AVS66MF which is better for treble hooks, but rods for "moving baits" are not as important as they are for other applications. 8-)
  13. Tips: MegaStrike can be applied when you are ready to fish, it's easy to use. JJ's Magic can be dipped at home (outside). After dipping baits, let them dry before putting them back into well sealed bags. The scent will last indefinitely, no spill and much easier to fish. 8-)
  14. Geez...Are you related to Fish Chris? 8-)
  15. Plus, best time for big bass for me! 8-)
  16. Me too! I would like to fish anywhere, anytime and for anything with Al Linder. 8-)
  17. *** MODERATOR NOTE *** Let's put this one to bed. Although the dude deserves getting kicked around, I'm sure he will screw things up well enough without any more of our help. Good night Irene -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  18. Get the Symetre and be happy...VERY HAPPY! 8-)
  19. Hmm... Want to save some money, use just a few lures and catch lots of fish? Visit this guy's website and take notes: http://www.imaginationbassin.com/index.htm 8-)
  20. Greg and Debbie have a "special" tube they might tell you about. Big-O says blue is the color and he did very well on Saturday fishing a blue Rage Tail Lobster on a Shak-e2 jig head, I think. Most of my fish were small, but we had some numbers on black or black & blue jigs with blue trailers; and green pumpkin w/ black flakes jig/ Baby Paca Craw, Alabama pattern. Shakey heads were productive for everyone that fished them, including Glenn on his first cast of the trip! I caught my biggest bass on a Sebile Koolie Minnow, Yellow Pepper (chartreuse). Although fish were caught at a variety of depths, Glenn, Keri and I were on a very specific pattern Tuesday: 12' depth reading without variance. I caught nothing on a variety of lipless crankbaits and spinnerbaits, but CJ caught 3 or 4 keepers and a number of shorts on a Rat-L-Trap Saturday. On Monday Bud had success with a Lucky Craft CB 200. I also had the pleasure of fishing with cart7t, Long Mike, flukemaster and fivebasslimit. They may share their stories later, but I'll just say, 5BL has some great success flipping to cover! 8-)
  21. Bonus Points! Delo's is a sponsor. 8-)
  22. I like my spinning tackle for everything I will probably use this rig to fish, but I would like suggestions for an appropriate match for the reel. I'm thinking drop-shot or some other sissy application. Thanks! 8-)
  23. This one will "do it all": St. Croix Avid AVC66MF with a soft tip. This is an all-around rod for treble hook lures, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, but is especially well suited for working jerkbaits and topwater lures. 8-)
